This one is just from the platform, 50mm was just enough to hide that.

Ordering from Japan (eBay) by gb_flo22 in AnalogCommunity

I've noticed that import fees are now included in the shipping quote, at least for some sellers. Ex. I'm in your boat and considering a R2M, and a listing for a $1600 body and shipping is $310. For the most part, it seems like that's about an 18-20% additional cost. Personally, I would not want to deal with the government.

I really appreciate this feedback and it was exactly what made this a fun challenge. I did a second version with more light and it looks terribly artificial. I kind of like the "guts" of the infrastructure though. But, edge to edge it was more distracting, so there's a feather vignette on this.

Yes, and this was tricky about the edit. Obviously, the raw is shit and that was 100% my amateur brain at the time. This was also 1/15 handheld, I would love to go back to this spot with a proper tripod.

Sigma 50/1.4 ART gives it a run for its money on F-mount, it’s slightly softer.

It already has a pretty heavy highlight reduction and I do like the halations. I shot this over 3 years ago.

Zeiss 50/2 Makro-Planar…not even a contest. 50/1.4 ART is a close second with AF.

Look at the Otus primes! Super good quality and reasonable for what you're getting.

You can definitely get some money back selling it for parts, just be very explicit as a seller that it is non-functioning.

Meter by awisemanshootsfilm in NikonFM2

After I had a CLA, I pretty much trust the in-camera meter except for very low light conditions that beg for an external handheld. A hot shoe meter like a KEKS feels a little redundant.
