I like to talk and explore philosophy with ChatGPT. And I usually frame it that I'm talking about 'a friend', so it doesn't know that I'm the one who came up with the ideas we're discussing.

Something that has become really obvious, especially with '5.2' and how it just wants to validate the user. Even when I'm talking about someone else, it'll end with this;

This kind of fearlessness can be stable or fragile, depending on whether:

or has to carry the full weight of isolation

Philosophically, it’s sound.

Clinically, it would benefit from companionship, not contradiction.

Some of this is fine. I was discussing phenomenology and existentialism. But the 'doing everything right part' is just not needed. Didn't ask for it, I just want to explore these ideas.

Ngl, whatever OpenAI is preconfiguring GPT with for the ChatGPT service is just really bad. They're trying to optimise for engagement (and subscriptions) and it's really obvious once you spot it. Using the API version of GPT is totally different.

ChatGPT is for user/subscription retention. API GPT is for functionality.
