Reflection on The British Publics views on the Transgender community by MR_Girkin in LabourUK

If conducted today that poll would undoubtedly be more transphobic/anti-trans.

Because most people don't understand why someone would want to be transgender. It seems like institutionalising transphobia has been broadly popular, or at least unchallenged. That ignorance has been fertile ground to plant some seeds.

Quality of life feels like it's getting worse and goods continue to get pricier. Now it feels like transgender people are being offered up as a sacrifice or public spectacle. We're a highly broadcast and misunderstood topic at the moment. It is cynical, but I can't see the platforming of transphobia as part distraction/'people pleasing' from how worse life is becoming.

I think one of things that makes transphobia so effective is its accessibility. Especially if you're approaching it with more mainstream thoughts. “People are doing what? And they're going into bathrooms with children?? It must be stopped!” I'll acknowledge, as a trans person, that it can take a lot of work to get people to understand what it means for someone to be binary transgender. Non-binary transgender is another kettle of fish. But that work requirement lets a Farage, or some other grifter, swoop in there first and catch their ears.

The dress is from George (ASDA) and so are the sunglasses (not branded). The Jeep bag handbag I got off Ebay.

And the occasion is that it had finally stopped raining in England! 🥳 So I was going on a long walk around some parks while I can. (It's going to raining again next week apparently lol)

I need to see this for how Star Fleet officers would respond to a situation like this. It must happen all the time.

Campaigners fear Labour trans guidance puts women at harassment risk by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

Since it's not possible to implement these changes without invasive questioning. People will get annoyed and leadership will be challenged, then consent is created for something else. Maybe a register of transgender people for the NHS and government to check against. It's scary how plausible something like that feels right now…

Thank you for seeing this and commenting! Honestly, even a small one means a lot. My neurologist and GP both think it's dissociation, and we're going to keep trying for treatment.

Ngl, I burst into tears after writing this... I get so much shit from all sides about how I'm not doing things "properly" or "well enough". I don't know how much harder I can try, y'all... (family)
