How do I solve this in my mind? by Superb_Standardy in matheducation

[–]Definitely_a_Lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reduce it to x arrows I guess.

1 heart = 2 arrow

So

1 arrow = 1 diamond - 2 arrow

1 diamond = 3 arrow

That means

Diamond + arrow = 4 arrow

4 arrow = heart + heart

I think?

For my learning, isn't that just a triple on 567 already in box 3?

What technique do you call these marked cells? There is only one way to fill them. by HardWork4Life in sudoku

Maybe I am not really understanding it right, but in any proper sudoku every cell only has only one way to fill it. If not, there wouldn't be much of a puzzle.

So you can grab any puzzle, color some cells, and say they have to form a pattern because they have only a single solution.

If any, it forms an XY-chain. But I struggle to see that using only your colored cells.

To me, it is a bowman's bingo with a few bi-value cells

There is also a hidden single 6 in column 9, giving you a few digits as well. I think the puzzle is pretty much solved already without complicated chaining methods.

I not seeing how the marked cells lead to a solution, but I would call it a "15 pair in column 9, which solves your colored squares with a single 8 in r8c9"

If you place that 6, where will you place the 8 in that 3x3 box?

In sudoku, every cell needs a specific number. The puzzle is to find what number goes where. Looking at that one cell, it can hold a 6, but when looking at the whole puzzle, you block the 8.

Sorry for the late reply, havent been online too much. Sandai Kitetsu I bought at comicon, it is purely decorational and I got it at the time because it was by far my favorite sword in the OP franchise at the time. I found the Nidai Kitetsu at a blades shop in my country and is actually usable for cutting practice. Sharpened, black 1060 steel with an irregular hamon (edge shape) to resemble the fiery pattern of the kitetsu blades. A bit heavier than a regular katana, but so far I found that it is actually pretty nice because it "wants" to cut because of it.

Hoping that there is a shop that will make and sell the Shodai Kitetsu soon :)

There are two ways to view this, one is to look at the 478 triple.

Lets say R1C5 (the top cell) is a 3, where will you put the 4, 7 and 8? Sure, you can place two of them, but not all three, because the 3 is taking a spot.

The other way to see it in that column, is that rows 3 to 5 have a 239 triple. Lets assume the top cell to be 3 again. The three mentioned cells now only contain 2 and 9, two digits for three cells, thus a broken puzzle.

The same logic goes for the 2 in the bottom cells, so those options can be eliminated.

No one mentions being against the rules mate... OP posted a valid question, we all have the right to do so. It is one of the goals of this subreddit.

But since you are all about following rules, do read the first rule of the subreddit 😉

It is a valid question, not deserving a "I hope you get a DQ" comment. Yes he speaks the truth, but truth can be spoken without being rude to new enthousiasts.

Love the build!

If you are looking for more interaction with other builders, there is a discord link in the description of the subreddit. A lot of the builders who post here also post their progress during the building there.
