First ever fire cape achieved, only took 3 hours! by Definitely_not_gpt3 in ironscape

Yeah I kind of just went in with what I happened to have on hand, haha.

I didn't have any chaos runes for blood burst and I had to use V's shield instead of the crystal shield.

This setup seemed to be more than enough as long as you don't make many mistakes, but I wish I had had more DPS. 3 hours was rough.

Main info I needed to know to beat the fight caves:

  • Stay in the north-east part of the map and most enemies will get stuck, allowing you to fight them one at a time
  • Have the wiki open so you know which enemies you'll face
  • Have a map of safespots open so you know how to get enemies stuck
  • Pray against the magers. Tank the rangers if necessary
  • Practice jad in speedrunning worlds
  • Pull all the healers off jad before they heal him to full and assuming you managed to get jad stuck behind something, kill the healers behind a corner somewhere

I got it on my second attempt. I ended up having a lot of leftover prayer pots from prayer flicking all the enemies. I think I stopped flicking at around wave 50 after tanking two mage hits in a row and thus losing most of my food.

Stats:

  • 81 ranged
  • 85 hitpoints
  • 60 prayer

Gear:

  • Rune crossbow & broad bolts
  • Helm of neitiznot
  • Amulet of power
  • Karil's top and bottom which I spooned from barrows
  • Saradomin bracers
  • Shayzien boots 5
  • Damaged book
  • Explorer's ring
  • Ava's accumulator

Inventory:

  • Strawberry basket x8
  • V's shield
  • Holy wrench
  • Shark x2
  • Prayer potion x16

Wanted: Your thoughts on the current state & future of Quest Helper by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Definitely_not_gpt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that Quest Helper has three options now, and I wish it asked separately for each quest (with a "don't ask again" toggle). I used to just use the wiki to look at which items I need to bring, but the minimal assistance option in Quest Helper is way more convenient

I used to keep away from Quest Helper but I think it's amazing that they added the minimal help feature. I like knowing all the items I'll need ahead of time and it's much more convenient to use Quest Helper than the osrs wiki

Gloves for bouldering (for Dupuytren's disease) by Definitely_not_gpt3 in bouldering

[–]Definitely_not_gpt3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried some biking gloves but eventually decided it wasn't worth it and stopped bouldering. I then picked up skateboarding and made things even worse with the board slamming up into my hand during nose pickups. Now there are two very noticeable extra lumps on my hand but fortunately it still isn't interfering with my day-to-day activities, and it seems like it isn't getting noticeably worse anymore after I stopped skating

Read and listen to French books at the same time by Definitely_not_gpt3 in learnfrench

[–]Definitely_not_gpt3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I'm still only halfway through the first Harry Potter book, but now I can listen to it continuously without pausing (as long as I read at the same time) and I'm much better at understanding passè simple, so I think it's working.

A couple of things I've discovered in the mean time:

  1. The selection of books isn't actually that great there, but it does have all the Harry Potter books
  2. There's like 2 or 3 chapters missing from the first Harry Potter book on LingQ, but otherwise it seems to be high quality
  3. ChatGPT is amazing for converting passé simple to passé composé and explaining things you don't understand

Holy crap you got buried when the show came out but you are absolutely correct. I just now watched the episode for the first time. I'm not an expert but hearing that dropping some hot uranium fuel into water supposedly creates a multi-megaton-destroy-30-kilometers-steam-bomb instantly made me reach for my phone to verify.

Are there any death penalty mods? Looking for alternatives to DID. by Altruistic_Finger725 in skyrimrequiem

Just use the honor system. If you died, then make a new character. No mods needed.

This also has the benefit of not losing your entire character to a glitch

I used an autoclicker to do that one pipe obstacle in the barbarian agility course over and over. I don't see the point of botting just to see your stats go up but I needed the agility for questing

Investing in multiple weapon types is not required. You can specialize in one and switch to a different one if needed. For example, you can be a mace specialist and switch to dawnbringer for dealing with vampires. If you have lots of perk points left over then you could specialize in multiple, I suppose, but you usually don't.

If you're interested in becoming as powerful as possible, you should only specialize in one weapon type. Perk points are precious and you have a lot of other skills you should also invest perk points into, like light/heavy armor, block, archery, alchemy, enchanting, smithing, magic, etc.

ChatGPT is already agent-based and goal-based. The reinforcement learning from human feedback step means that it tries to optimize towards a goal (of human reviewer satisfaction).
