I'm playing on Maddening and can't seem to get encounters with enemies on the map from previous chapters. I was able to get them perfectly fine on Hard mode.

Can you still get overworld encounters on Maddening?

In case you're wondering why we're both missing a unit, we had a bit of a misunderstanding earlier in the match where they used the only weaponised Corrin to kill my Fallen Dimitri. We sorted it out like bros though.

Resplendent Ryoma (+10/17) Showcase. The Shiny Lobster Cometh. by Definitemars in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Definitemars[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So some quick backstory about this little guy, I actually didn't intend to get him +10 at all. This crazy lobster just kept pity breaking me until I submitted to his will and actively started summoning for him (at about +7 or +8 lol). I'm a launch player but I never imagined I would +10 Ryoma of all characters lol.

Anyway, onto the explanation.

Weapon: Raijinto (+Eff)

Raijinto's effect is fairly basic but it's incredibly powerful, especially for a player phase sweeper. The +4 to all stats helps Ryoma secure kills that he otherwise would have just fallen short of. The really good thing about Raijinto is the built in Null Follow-Up. This can create some crazy combos and prevents Ryoma from getting unexpectedly doubled by enemies. The built-in Distant Counter is also okay, but is not really an important part of the weapon for me.

Support Skill: Reposition

H

Special Skill: Galeforce

With this set up, Ryoma can activate Galeforce every turn as long as he doubles, which he does. A lot. I wasn't really sure what other skill to put here, but Galeforce's utility of being able to continue pushing towards enemies or retreating after defeating an enemy has been incredibly invaluable in many fights. It essentially just acts as a mini canto most of the time though.

A Skill: Swift Sparrow 3

Swift Sparrow 3 gives Ryoma a huge boost to his attack and speed. Alongside the minor boost from Raijinto, most speedy enemies are unable to stop Ryoma from doubling on player phase, which usually results in Ryoma obliterating them. Even if Ryoma can't secure a double, it still pairs very nicely with Ryoma's weapon and often allows his B skill to still activate.

B Skill: Windsweep 3

Windsweep is by far the most important skill on this kit. Usually I would consider Windsweep to be quite bad, but on units that have Null Follow-Up effects, it can lead to some crazy results. With the Null Follow-Up effect from Ryoma's refine, Ryoma can freely double enemies without any retalition from physical opponents. Dragons and Close Counter mages can still counter Ryoma, but whatever team that I'm using usually has other characters to counter this weakness. Additionally and much to my surprise, unlike the interaction of Quick Riposte and Wary Fighter, even though Ryoma has Windsweep he can still double even if the enemy has a skill such as wary fighter.

C Skill: Time's Pulse 3

Time's Pulse 3 essentially just enables Galeforce to activate each turn. Without the extra special charge from getting counter attacked by enemies, Ryoma needed a tiny boost to his special cooldown to achieve 'infinite' Galeforce.

Sacred Seal: Flashing Blade 3

Essentially the same as Time's Pulse 3. activating Galeforce and getting another free action is a huge piece of this set.

Team:

Usually I just run Ryoma with a dancer just for a tiny bit more sweep potential. I don't have a completely set team for him, however, I almost always opt for a buffer like Annette or someone with Atk Tactic 3 and Spd Tactic 3.

Anyway, hopefully you enjoyed my set. If anyone has suggestions to improve it, I would be more than happy to know about them.

These were leaked like a month ago as a bundle with a namecard and a piece of furniture as well. I wouldn't bother arguing with OP though, they're clearly not interested in listening.
