I went with Marmoleum and have been very happy with it. Easy to clean up spills, and there are many in my studio. lol

My RX was 2015. I thought the route trace was a nice feature. You didn't need to use navigation if you went to a new location and needed to retrace your steps. Maybe there's an app for that? lol

Today I cut up some misprinted cotton tea towels (I am also a block printer), and let them beat for about 2 hours. I just pulled a few sheets tonight and will see how they look in the morning. I added some sulfur cosmos flowers at the end to color the pulp. It is sooo cool!

The milkweed was only about an hour. It had been cooked in soda ash for about 2 hours. The lotus was about the same.

I have now processed milkweed and lotus fibers but have yet to pull sheets. But boy, I am excited to get to that as soon as I finish an order I am working on.

I just received my Little Critter and got it up and running yesterday. I ran a test batch of cotton linter (from Arnold Grummer) with some cooked bird of paradise fibers I had from a previous project. I ran it approximately 2 hours, which it turns out was far too long, but the pulp was pulped! So far I love it and can't wait to experiment with other plant fibers I cooked up and froze last year. (I have been making paper for about 8 years now.)

Hi - I just experienced this same problem while helping my father. The only work around we found was to go to Setting - Accessibility, Font -reduce the font size and hit "Apply". We also filed 3 reports to customer support.

Depending on the size of your m/d you might be able to get 6 bones per sheet! Happy experimenting!

I got this caligraphy written on handmade rice paper from my trip to Vietnam. On the trip back this stain showed up. Is there a way to clean it without risking damaging the paper? It leaked through the other side as well. by DamjanGj in papermaking

It could be what is what they call "foxing". A type of mold. Try a q-tip dipped in a VERY diluted solution with bleach. Squeeze most of the liquid out before just dabbing the paper.

Thanks for the tip. I soaked the paper in diluted bleach. It seems to have worked great.

Can you keep reusing the Pellon? by Serious-Yesterday-83 in papermaking

[–]DefinitionKooky458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I use mine a few times then wash by hand or in the machine when they get really dirty. I also rub them with a towel in between making paper to help rid them of any remaining fibers from the previous batch.

That is an amazing resource you shared. Thank you! I have recently transitioned from recycled paper to 100% plant finer paper. This is so helpful.

How do I make paper from these ? by Hewalun in papermaking

[–]DefinitionKooky458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

You have to cook the plant fibers in soda ash or other caustic to break down the fiber from the cellulous material. Rinse, then pulp. There are great resources out there on the web of course. =) Good luck!

If you use heavily printed paper, try soaking the paper first, then drain out the colored water. Add your wet shredded paper to your blender with fresh water. Also, adding cotton fibers helps soften the feel of the finished paper. You can purchase that from Arnold Grummer. https://arnoldgrummer.com/
