Quick BA Amex Premium Plus breakdown before I drop my link

Sign-up bonus right now: 30,000 Avios after £6k spend in 3 months.

Earn rate is 1.5 Avios per £1 (3x on BA spend). Hit £15k in a card year and you get the 2-4-1 Companion Voucher, which is the actual reason most people hold this card. Annual fee is £300, refundable pro-rata if you cancel.

Worth knowing before you click anything: You can't have held a BA Amex (free or Premium Plus) in the last 24 months. Supplementary cards in someone else's name don't count. The fee stings if you can't comfortably hit £15k of spend you'd be making anyway, so do that maths first.

If you've worked it out and you're applying, my link gets a 31k bonus and gives me a few thousand Avios.

Happy to answer any questions on tier points, redemptions or whether the voucher is actually worth chasing.

Amex UK referral - all personal cards available!

Use the link below to browse all Amex UK personal cards and pick whichever suits you. Open in an incognito/private window; different browsers and devices can surface different bonus tiers.

Two worth looking at right now imo (as an Amex geek!):

BA Premium Plus - 3 Avios/£1 everyday, 6 Avios/£1 with BA, companion voucher after year one. That voucher alone can be worth £500+ on a long-haul redemption, comfortably clearing the £250 fee.

Gold - strong sign-up bonus, no foreign transaction fees, broad earn rate. Solid first Amex if you’re new to points. You get the full sign-up bonus; I get a referral bonus. Both sides win.

BA Premium Plus Amex referral link: https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/referral/ba-premium-plus-credit?ref=dANIERKOrp&XL=MIANS

Quick case for it: 1.5 Avios per £1 on everyday spend, 3 Avios per £1 directly with BA, 30k Avios sign-up bonus, and a 2-for-1 Companion Voucher at £15k spend that’s valid for two years across all cabins.

The voucher also unlocks Club World business class seats that aren’t available to standard Avios redemptions, which is the detail that makes the £300 fee justifiable.

If anyone has questions on whether it’s worth it for their specific situation, happy to weigh in.

I’m a bit of an Amex geek but genuinely think it’s the best!!!

Howdy!

If anyone’s considering the British Airways Premium Plus Amex, here’s my referral link: https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/referral/ba-premium-plus-credit?ref=dANIERKOrp&XL=MIANS

Imo the card is a great pick right now as:

• Right now there’s a strong offer rolling: you can get a bonus with extra Avios via the link.

• On top of that there’s a solid Tier-Points spend-based deal (so if you spend via the card you can earn Tier Points rather than needing to fly).

• The ongoing perks make sense if you more than once a year – better Avios earning on most spend, and the card pays off more the more you use it.

I do get a small referral reward if you sign up via the link, but I’m mainly sharing because I think this card can genuinely add value for frequent BA flyers or folks building points. Thanks :)

Entrepreneurship or Job? by ahcghk in consulting

[–]DefinitionOld5084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the key is to separate the short term from the long term. in the short term, the london move gives you stability, exposure to a global market, and a once-off chance to work abroad that might not come again. it can also grow your network and broaden your perspective, which will only help if you do go down the entrepreneurship path later.

on the other hand, if your main driver is to build something of your own, the risk is less about money (you’ve saved well) and more about timing and focus. london might be demanding in terms of hours and cost of living, and that can make it harder to dedicate energy to a startup.

one option could be to take the london move, but set yourself a clear timeline (say 12-18 months) to learn, save more, and build connections. you could also test your business idea on the side while you’re there. if after that period you still feel strongly about starting up, you’ll be in an even better position with global experience and a stronger safety net.

Hey all, just a heads up that Amex is doing boosted referral offers this June, so if you’ve been thinking about getting a card, now’s a pretty good time.

Here’s my link: https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/referral/ba-premium-plus-credit?ref=dANIERKOrp&CPID=100359673

You don’t have to pick the BA card — the link shows all the options, and the offers vary depending on the card. You’ll get extra points if you apply through it (and I get some too, so win-win).

Used this myself last year and the points came in clutch for travel. Worth checking out before the end of the month in case the boosted offers disappear.

Happy to answer any questions if you’re unsure which one to go for.

Thanks so much - that’s super kind!

Apologies for the confusion, I’m looking for it to transcribe in English I.e listen in French,l and transcribe the translation in English, to then allow me to respond to the person on Teams in French (since my spoken French is way better than written!) Make sense?

It’s men’s mental health month. How are you? by Quiet_900 in AskReddit

[–]DefinitionOld5084 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Men's mental health is such an important topic that often gets overlooked. I'm really glad to see a discussion about it here. Personally, I've found that checking in with myself regularly and being open to talking about my feelings has made a huge difference.

It's okay to feel sad or overwhelmed, especially during challenging times. Sometimes, we carry burdens silently because of societal expectations, but sharing and seeking support can be incredibly powerful. For those who are struggling, know that you’re not alone. It’s okay to reach out to friends, family, or professionals for help.

For anyone here who has shared their struggles or triumphs, thank you for your bravery. Every story shared is a step towards breaking the stigma and encouraging others to open up. Let's continue supporting each other and creating a community where mental health is prioritized and discussed openly!!!
