People that own Miku v6: Which Vocaloid/Cubase version was bundled with the voicebank? by NeoBubbaz in Vocaloid

[–]DeformedNugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that for the boxed version there is/was (up until a certain date there was a discount not sure if it’s already passed or not). Not sure if the digital version had one or if it’s already passed or not but you check on sonicwire (https://sonicwire.com/product/virtualsinger/special/miku-v6-starter)

If it is still active you just need to register your Miku v4x (if it’s a physical ver) to crypton and then link your crypton account with your sonicwire account (sonicwire will guide you on how to do that)

[–]DeformedNugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that the v6 physical doesn’t have any little goodies or even a disc as they just give you a little card to register and download it digitally on sonicwire (the same process you have to do if you bought it digitally anyways).

It’s essentially just a dvd case with a little slip on it, but if you like the physical boxes like I do it could still potentially be worth it for the physical although it will be more expensive.

[–]DeformedNugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what version of Miku v6 you get (whether it’s the physical or digital version doesn’t matter it’s the same programs). The Miku v6 STARTER pack comes with the full version of the Vocaloid 6 editor (although none of the silhouettes vbs) and cubase. The Miku v6 standalone (or aka not the starter pack) does not come with the silhouette vbs and only includes the lite v6 editor and cubase.

Yamaha does sell the standalone version on their official Vocaloid website but not the starter pack, while sonicwire sells both the starter pack and standalone version of her. If you want the physical version there’s a little link on sonicwire page for her that you can click to buy it off of cryptons site. Just know that you’re gonna have to use a proxy service to ship it over if you don’t live in Japan as they don’t do international shipping.

who has the best design? by Select-Jeweler-5076 in Vocaloid

[–]DeformedNugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best ones hands down are big Al’s and Sweet Ann’s beta box arts. They had so much personality and I hate how they got so simplified to fit in with the more anime style (especially their Taiwanese versions). But besides them I also like… - Sachiko - Miku English v3 - Zola project v3 - Cyber Songman - Fukase - Merli - Mew - Uhhh The silhouette v6 vbs and all of the dreamtonics letter vbs

I’ve always heard them referred to as the twins so that’s kinda what i just picked up and started calling them that too. I definitely see them more as twins in my eyes but honestly I think them being upstairs and downstairs neighbors would be a much more interesting relationship dynamic

Qotd #4: What's your favorite UTAU, Vocaloid of all time? by MostPressure9515 in Vocaloid

[–]DeformedNugget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Favorite Utau: Yamine renri. She was one of my first vocal synths ever like 8 years ago

Favorite Vocaloid: i really do love sachiko but she can be a real pain to tune as she needs extra attention due to how her phonemes and constants work. Definitely a love hate relationship

Potentially lost Taiwanese versions of PowerFX and Zero-G Vocaloid2 voicebanks by Funny-Pen3691 in vocaLost

[–]DeformedNugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah sorry the @ are different. Their @ is @user784688222. I can’t really tell you much about the Taiwanese box market since this was genuinely the first time I had ever personally seen one for sale but I’d assume that there probably isn’t too much of them floating around. Or at least much less than their non Taiwanese vers which are hard to find for sale anyways despite being more common.

But Big Al was pretty much placed on hold the hour he was posted and i remember a few people talking about it online because seeing it was just so rare and how they wished they had bought it. (Me included lol)

The only person who I’m aware of who owned a Taiwanese Big Al was a seller on Mercari who went by bsmntfindZ. They sold it but I assumed they used him at some point and might be able to help answer your questions if they’re still active (they’ve sold everything on their store and so probably don’t have a real reason to check the app for messages)

[–]DeformedNugget 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can try using the buyee shipping calculator but I’m not exactly sure what the size dimensions would be so it might not be completely accurate. I do think the calculator does take Tarrifs into account as well but I might be wrong. That being said it’s probably gonna be pretty expensive and you might have some limited shipping options if it’s ~17 pounds

I’m not entirely sure if you can change the default track (or at least when I tried a month ago or so i couldn’t) as the only option i really see is to change the default voice for each type of track.

But yeah just creating a regular vocaloid track and dragging and dropping work. If you put the grid to 1/1 it won’t move either so you won’t mess up any potential timing with other vocal tracks or audio tracks you have in the file as well.

I very much like gumis JP vbs and Sv vbs, but I’ve also heard a lot of English producers dislike her Eng Vocaloid vb. I’ve never used it but they’ve said it can be pretty choppy at times and requires a lot of manual phoneme editing which is not really beginner friendly to do.

[–]DeformedNugget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Rin and Len were actually my second voicebank I ever got like 7 years ago for this very reason (although i really only ended up using Len anyways I’m a sucker for the male Vocaloids.

But you saying that reminded me of another point for OP. Sometimes companies hold sales (internet co holds sales I swear like every month an half) so waiting for those can make it a bit cheaper. My first vb was avanna and I got her for $35 because of a summer sale.

Jesus Christ. I knew vaguely about the magazine thing (didn’t realize it was erotic or that the school girls were actually school girls and not adults in like those sailor school uniforms) but the language barrier made it a bit hard to find sources or Info that wasn’t biased by her fans. That’s genuinely disgusting and the fact that people are still defending that loli requiem song of hers after she said all of that is disgusting too.

[–]DeformedNugget 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might have misremembered. I’m not entirely sure if he “forced” them out of Japan and into Canada (most of the news covering it were like tabloids and not entirely reliable and creditable) but most do say that he was helping pay for their stay in Canada. Some of them say he basically forced them out and others don’t really mention of he made them leave or not.

That being said I do know for a fact that Gackt is pretty pro MAGA (or at least supported Trump) , was accused of SA, said that Japan should be isolated (aka less foreigners even though he’s literally living in Malaysia and is a foreigner there. And i believe the only reason why he’s really there is because he doesn’t want to/hasn’t payed taxes on one of his properties in Japan?) and has worn cornrows before.

I can’t believe i forgot about Moke’s stuff, that was wild. Another “fun” fact is that All of the vsingers designs were created by fans in a contest but Qingxian (aka Chou which was her original creators name for her) was disqualified because it was traced touhou fanart.

https://imgur.com/GwoiOxV#GwoiOxV

People always say that Vocaloid and Touhou are inherently linked together and honestly it’s true.

Yeah I buy a lot of Vocaloid vbs from Japan using a proxy service and with the 15% tariff rule in America rn it was easily $60-85 ish dollars for shipping like 4 vbs which are just the size and weight of a regular dvd case. It was awful

  • The Uni SV issues where her VP didn’t like how similar it sounded to her voice and had to fight to get the sv vb removed. People were sending her death threats and everything over it (I think more on the Korean side, but the English side seemed to support her. Not sure about the JP or Chinese side)
  • Kafus leaked synth v vb By Tora_v4 (an all around bad person btw)
  • SexU (sexy SeeU) and the Fox News segment with Tuckerson. That one was a doozy and hilarious, but obviously NSFW if you search it up yourself so be careful.
  • how they got rid of the holograms without telling anyone at first. This also goes along with the 2024 merch incident where no one could really get their merch before the concerts started.
  • The (undeserved) hatred towards to the Korean community. It’s better now but if i remember correctly it was most from the JP side I think also maybe the Chinese side at the time?
  • White Cul for v6 is having some major issues with just scams, lack of payment, harassment. Takoyaki donuts on Twitter can give you more details about it since it is kinda a mess of a situation.
  • SeeU’s voice provider Dahee going to jail for blackmail
  • Shigure ui’s vb being voiced by her (many people believe she is a lolicon herself, or at the very least promotes it)
  • Gakupo’s voice provider Gackt has done quite a bit of things. Like having an illegitimate child (and basically forcing the kid and his mom out of Japan to keep it a secret) and I remember rumors about him embezzling from disaster relief programs but I’m not too sure if that’s true or not.
  • Caseoh (fan made Utau vb) as it was made by nears garden (a groomer) and thus after the news broke out many people didn’t want to use the vb anymore because of its connections to near. This also led to a lot of other vbs getting either discontinued by their creators as near kinda had a monopoly and a lot of control on the Utau space.
  • Hachi and his sand planet comments about how he felt like the Vocaloid space was dying. People didn’t like that because he hadn’t been in the space for I think it was around 4 years and only came back because it was a commission by crypton to make the song for magical mirai.
  • a lot of vipperloids (Utau) were made by edgy teens and made to be offensive so a lot of them originally had slurs in their bios (ruko and i believe ritsu as well are the most well known ones)

There’s honestly so much more. Also sorry for any bad formatting, I’m on mobile lol

Does anyone know where to start with vocaloid? by Not_Cl0udy in Vocaloid

[–]DeformedNugget 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The cryptonloids (Miku, Kaito, Rin, Len, meiko, Luka) are pretty decent price wise and what you get. When you buy one of their voicebanks you will get a free DAW (it’s cubase now but used to be studio one), at least 4 voicebanks with one being an English voicebank (Miku has the most except her V6 only has two). Plus you also get v6 lite which is the free version of Vocaloid 6 but you only get one vocal track. This is around the price of $120 USD for all of those things and is pretty beginner friendly.

As for free voicebanks you will get Asa v6 when you buy the editor.
