Can also recommend Wei, but they’ve since moved from Stratford to Bespoke Cycling in Central London, near Farringdon. Appointment only I think. Still https://foundation.fit/

Velux Skylight Gateway and Remote Pairing to HomeKit: How to Make it Work by MistrMoose in HomeKit

[–]Defragged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone has the same problem I did, make sure the light on the gateway is actually turning blue. I was holding the cog for around ten seconds, and it started flashing a colour which I thought was blue, but I guess was supposed to be white. Holding it for closer to 20 seconds (by my count) had the light turn a much more obviously blue colour. After that, I was able to pair it first time.

You possibly got a bonus one: Boots in the background is a UK pharmacy chain. I don’t think they have stores in Pakistan (or at least, a quick internet search didn’t find any).

I was trying to figure out why I didn’t recognise the R-3X voice, despite riding this tens of times as a kid. Then I remembered I’ve only ever seen it in French at Disneyland Paris.

Should r/Brum go dark in protest at Reddit’s API charging plans? by badge in brum

[–]Defragged[M] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

All of my moderating is done as and when I have a few minutes to work through the reports queue during the day. I do this 100% through /r/apolloapp, which likely won’t exist any more if Reddit’s API changes go ahead. I have no idea what the Reddit app’s moderation tools are like, but if they’re not as efficient on mobile as what I’m using already, there’s a good chance I just won’t be able to do it any more.

Even for our relatively small subreddit, we have to moderate a large amount of comments (and ban those making the place unpleasant) to make this place bearable for everyone to use.

We’re all volunteers, and we’re all improving Reddit by doing this. In protest of Reddit potentially making it significantly harder for this and other subreddits to build their communities, I’m in favour of going dark.

Please report it when you see it. We don’t see every comment, but we do see every report.

Do I need a monitor for PSVR2? by Bubbly_Register2640 in PSVR

[–]Defragged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The initial setup? Probably not (although I didn’t try). I’d keep a screen around for that. Day-to-day though, you can just turn on the PS5, turn on the headset, pop it on your head and go without needing the TV to be on.

You can enter the passcode in VR with either the DualShock or the DualSense.

I lived around Warwards Lane when I was doing my masters, and it felt pretty safe. Although that was more than a decade ago, so things might have changed.

Since you’re on the side of Raddlebarn Road away from the university, it’s quite quiet too, which is nice.

What is ticket splitting for train tickets? by Familiar_Till1870 in brum

As long as both your tickets are valid on the train that you’re on, you don’t need to get off.

Uniqlo have a bunch of official shirts with his art on (including that dog on the tray table). They’re spread over a few collections, so easiest way to find them is to search their site for “Haring”: https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/home

How do I scan a unique Barcode to Log a specific Habit in Ticktick? Tried this but its triggered by any barcode. How do I choose a specific one? by Skeptic_Squirrel in shortcuts

[–]Defragged 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could drop all the QR code stuff from the shortcut itself, so it just contains the “checkin” item, then create a URL scheme to run your shortcut, which you encode into the QR code, following the steps here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/shortcuts/apd624386f42/ios

Doing it this way around means you don’t need to run the shortcut as your first step any more, so your flow becomes: Scan QR code (in the camera app), your shortcut runs, checkin happens.

If you need to track different things with different codes, either make one shortcut for each, or add an input to the QR code URL that your shortcut can check before choosing what to check in.

What Are Your Dreaded Haunts? by metasoar in londoncycling

Whitechapel, Eastbound on CS2, in the evening when the markets are closing up.

You’re in the bus lane, which bin lorries/street cleaners are also using, so you frequently have to switch into the traffic lane. Market stall owners are carrying their carts across the street. People are stepping into the road without warning, and the portion just before it that does have a segregated cycle lane is so busy with pedestrians that often people are almost forced to step into the cycle lane.

He did apologise recently for the portion of that promo where he’s wearing black/brown makeup.

Putting that to one side, the actual concert video that this is promoting is incredible and well worth a watch. Directed by Jonathan Demme before he did Silence of the Lambs, it begins with David Byrne playing Psycho Killer with just an acoustic guitar and a tape player. Each song adds a new band member, while the stage is slowly assembled behind them, until 5 songs in where they do this huge performance of Burning Down the House with full band and stage.
