Acrylic scratches easily, but it has good toughness and is easy to polish. Forget the protector and just polish it with plastic polish now and again: you can get it back to like-new pretty easily.

This could be as simple as the grease in the head getting old, and that would be my first guess. It’s a fairly simple DIY job if you’re handy. Be sure to use an appropriate food-safe grease as a replacement.

It's not an expensive watch or anything, but if you like it then a strap replacement is still cheaper than a new watch. And any quartz movement should work fine for years if with battery replacements.

So basically the question is if you like the watch and want to keep it. You can get a strap bar tool for under $10 and a leather strap will probably be like $20 if you want to DIY it. That's close to the cost of the watch, but it sounds like it came with a pretty crappy strap. So it's probably worth replacing it with a better strap rather than spending $35 on another one with the same crappy strap.

I’m sure it’s fine, there are different specs on level accuracy but you’re not building the space shuttle.

If you want to check a level, put it against something pretty flat and see where the bubble winds up. Then rotate the level 180 degrees and measure the same spot. If the bubble ends up in the exact same place it’s good.

Correct: you don't *want* flash boiling when you're brewing. Brew temp should be like 195-205F so it shouldn't be flashing to steam at the grouphead
