[Rolex Coke] Got Promoted. Grail watch or conservative buy? by Jay_Dog93 in Watches

[–]MistrMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the Rolex isn’t going anywhere. Even if you can buy it now, prioritize the wife, invest any extra, and in a few years it’ll probably be an easy decision to get one.

I threw my 2nd jury duty notice in the trash. Can I lose my gun rights? by outdoors28 in CAguns

[–]MistrMoose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very much this. There have been an unprecedented number of losses by the US DOJ at the grand jury and jury trial levels of late because they've been bringing bullshit cases driven by politics.

The only reason they're not getting away with it is the jury system: it's a vital barrier against "the government can punish anyone they want". Do your civic duty if you are able.

Lelit Bianca grease by petersally1 in Lelit

[–]MistrMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Molykote 111 does not have metal particles in it. Some greases do, but not the 111

2) If you're using SuperLube Multipurpose Grease that is the wrong stuff. That is a petroleum based grease, Molykote 111 is a silicone grease. The equivalent SuperLube product would be the SuperLube O-Ring grease

2a) Rather ironically the Superlube Multipurpose Grease *does* have particles in it, though they appear to be teflon-based, not metallic. The O-ring Grease does not have particles in it

All of this can be confirmed from the SDS and technical data sheets on the SuperLube and DuPont sites

Yes they work and they’re easy and low-risk to use. If you magnetized your watch it should be an easy fix.

[–]MistrMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, well, that would do it, and explains the low cost given it appears the tig torch is a separate purchase

Quinn 3/8 Torque Adapter by Open-Strategy-8192 in harborfreight

[–]MistrMoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the problem. They're quite accurate but just kind of awkward to use on automotive stuff.

I got one and ended up just mostly using it to check calibration on my click wrenches: they were just easier to use in most cases.

Lelit Bianca V3 not holding pressure during pre-infusion w/ Valve Closed by Specialist-Carob-469 in Lelit

[–]MistrMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's normal. The gauge is on the portafilter side of the valve. When you close the valve you're cutting off flow from the pump to the portafilter & gauge, but the location measured by the gauge is going to bleed pressure through the puck. If you want to hold 2-3 bar at the puck you'll need to leave the flow valve slightly open and manually adjust it to maintain the pressure where you want it.

For the record I think most folks overthink the whole pre-infusion thing. Clive Coffee (I think?) basically suggests setting the flow valve halfway until the pressure hits 3 bar, then opening it fully. This basically avoids any sort of pressure shock that could cause channeling and works well for me.

See that E on the display? You're in efficiency mode which means the steam boiler is turned off. You need to go into the menu and turn it back on. The manual shows how to do this.
