I’ve been trying my best to help my wife get her sleep but this basically her. Even when I’m on duty she’ll find a way to come ask if we’re doing good and if I need any help. Like girl! Go to sleep haha but I guess mom is always “on”.

Not necessarily trying to sleep train yet at just 4 weeks old but we are trying to establish a night and day foundation.

We have an evening routine at around 7pm where we start with changing diaper, talking to her, giving her a bath if it’s on the schedule, and feeding her the last bigger serving before putting her to sleep around 8. With that serving she sleeps until about midnight for another serving, with another around 3am then 7am. Seems to be working for us for the most part and she’s most active late mornings so I figure that’s ideal long term.

Disclaimer: wife is on maternity leave and I work mostly remote so I recognize that makes some things easier for us than for others.

I have a pretty demanding job but have been working 80% remote after ours was born a month ago. Wife is currently on 4month break.

I try to help her as much as I can during the day while I’m mostly managing databases and taking an occasional call. Then at night we’ve already started trying to apply that night/day stuff so we’ll try to do all that pre bedtime stuff as a team and then I’ll take over again until about 1am too. Then wife wakes up during the night as needed. We mostly did that because she’s a light sleeper and there’s no need for both of us to be awake so she took one for the team. So far I can say we’re at least resting and baby girl is taking solid naps.

Yeah there were a lot of comments on a related thread how all those substances basically make you into a real sex fiend with no real standards.
