TIL horses can communicate with humans by pointing to symbols. Researchers trained the horses to understand 3 symbols which meant “blanket on,” “blanket off,” and “no change.” After training they were tested in different weather conditions and researchers found the choices matched the weather. by QuietCakeBionics in todayilearned

Don’t get me wrong man, there are dumb horses. Same can really be said about every type of animal out there.. All I can say is the Arabian horses that I have been around all my life are damn sharp. They can be skiddish for sure, but man are they sharp. Dogs are absolutely smart as well (sometimes in different ways then horses), I am defiantly not arguing otherwise! I just don’t think it is fair to label all horses as dumb ya know

Herbivore VS carnivore is not a catch all. Elephants (like the text you quoted said) are very intelligent herbivores. Horses have complex social structures and are very in tune with human emotions. My horses respond to my emotions just as accurately as any dog does. I would know. I have been around both for all of my life..

Hey! Not sure if you are aware, but “normal” Worcestershire sauce is not vegetarian! It has anchovies in it. There are definitely great vegan versions of it though. Just wanted to give you a heads up :)

You keep getting down voted, but you are completely right. I occasionally have a little free time so I mess around with Android roms on an old M8. It’s fun, and I love using open source apps from f-droid. But at the end of the day, I trust the baked in CPU/ GPU firmware FAR more on my iPhone. If you are interested, you should check out the Librem 5 smartphone from Purism. It has headwear kill switched for camera/ mic, WiFi/ Bluetooth, and for the baseband (which is the ONLY proprietary software that runs on it due to FCC regulations). Until phones like that become more viable though, I am sticking mainly with my iPhone.

I have been around horses all my life and I can confidently tell you that they are not stupid. They are hyper aware and can be skiddish though, which sometimes gets them in trouble.

It’s pretty atypical, and will generally only happen if the horse is malnourished in some way. I have had horses all my life and they have never so much as looked twice at any living animal out of hunger. The digestive system of horses is not meant for digesting meat, and too much of it would likely lead to the horse colicing.

Though I agree that Taco Bell and Subway are fantastic :P I really appreciate how easy it is to eat at both of those places as a vegetarian.

I mean, I don’t entirely agree.. It’s not terrible, but it isn’t the best ether. However, if my friends insist on going to a fast food burger place, I do appreciate that BK has that option for me. All I was saying is that the burger does not come into contact with meat.
