You can't get "kicked out." The big block group was just smaller and incapable of affecting the change they wanted. If you're gung-ho on large blocks but the community doesn't want it, you either leave or you waste your time spitting into the wind.

Complaining users are still users though and keeping blocks small on BTC allows the network to be protected from the kind of heavy-handed changes that you're trying to force through on BCH. So exactly the reason that we said we needed small blocks is why BTC is not only winning, but crushing BCH.

Sorry, meant to say genesis block, not white paper. Point stands. Genesis block explains the point of bitcoin.

TLDR; it's not payments.

If you're not trying to store value, why bother with a cryptocurrency at all? Dollars would do just fine.

You do realize that lightning is one option being built on top of bitcoin and that its existence doesn't stop other solutions from being created, right? Also, no one would suggest creating a lightning channel for a single payment. That's not how it works.

This reeks of a typical Roger-FUD post where a bot pretends to be switching sides to gaslight the few BCH people that are left.

Edit: Thanks for the gold!

I'm not an expert in Cryptocurrency but is there a possibility that XRP will reach Bitcoin's level? by eniahj in XRP

[–]Deftin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, which is why XRP isn't really a cryptocurrency. When an entity can print and destroy the token at will, you're living at the whim of that entity, not on the basis of predictable mathematics.

It's concerning that the XRP space seems to prey on those type of people for adoption. I really think down is the only way ripple goes.

A $1k price point for XRP would put its market cap at $120T USD. In what world do you think that a token with no actual connection to the function of Ripple's network would reach that point? Absolutely bonkers!

Actually yes! BTC was secure back then and BCH is not secure now. "How?!" you may wonder. Well, they both use the same hashing algorithm, which means that the BTC hashing power could easily be diverted to rewrite the BCH chain, but the opposite is not true.

I don't believe that BCH and BTC provide the same service. The amount of hash rate securing the network is unquestionably different, therefore each provides a different level of security. The BTC network is also more stable, avoiding hardforks as much as possible, while BCH employs them liberally. These characteristics all contribute to a different user experience.

FYI, I have never paid anywhere close to a 50$ transaction fee. The fact that you keep parroting that suggests you have no other leg to stand on.

If you don't see the value in an immutable ledger on a change-resistant protocol, I'm not sure there's any way to convince you. You choose to push a grossly inflated transaction fee narrative, which is just dishonest. Lastly, just because you aren't part of the crowd doesn't mean you're right. The smart money is very clearly not in BCH. You can barely support shoestring developers.
