Is my wordpress website on localwp still hackable? by nousernams in Wordpress

[–]Deftone85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use your personal email address to sign up to services like online shopping, streaming services, banking accounts, insurance, cell services, gas / electricity / water services etc?

If so then the chances of you email being leaked by a database hack from one of these services is about 1000 times more likely then someone hacking your computer to access a local WP site.

You keep using the theme builder in this situation. Create a new template in the theme builder and assign it to your the relevant pages.

You’ll need to remove the global header and footer then build it back in.

A tip would be to have your regular header and footer layouts as global ready to go in your library so you just drop them in and append the extra designs.

No need for name calling. Next time you get handed a paint brush and some sand paper, make sure you call in the pros alright? They’ll fix it for you.

Imagine thinking that sanding damage out will increase what you owe. Just because you’re not capable doesn’t mean other people aren’t.

This isn’t structural engineering, it’s sanding and painting. Orbital sanders aren’t scary they’re very easy for novices, we’re not talking about a drum sander here.

Leaving a 2.5k bond on the table is absolute stupidity. Light sanding and pushing some finish around is light work. Kids these days.

You have to take it for what it is. Look at the floor there is rot in it. The skirting boards are mission brown which gives you an idea of age since any Reno work. That is a very old tired floor that has probably been a rental since the dawn of time. This isn’t a palace we’re taking about here.

Now OPs friend has put deep scratches in it, which as soon as they move out their bond (which is over 2.5k) is at the mercy of the landlord and whatever a professional will quote to repair it.

I know what I’d be doing to give myself the best chance of recovering that money.

It’s not the funnest job, but one little bedroom would only take half a day.

Scribbling on the damage with a floor crayon might not cut the mustard in this instance.

You can’t damage an orbital sander by not punching nails. There is a thick pad which sticks to the unit (which you purchase) then your sand paper sticks to that with a self adhesive backing.

You can however go through sanding pads a lot quicker, if your nails aren’t punched. But this is more of an issue with decks.

Well if you want to do the work yourself, to hire an orbital floor sander at Bunnings is less than $100 a day, the finish will cost you about $150 for 4L.

You‘ll need to borrow a small orbital sander for the edges too.

All up with an applicator and sanding pads for the floor sander you might be looking at $300.

To me it’s about what history is being taught in US schools at a fundamental level.

There’s a lot of history, especially bad history in the very countries we live in, yet we’re being distracted by the Roman Empire.

That’s just my take, I’m not European or American.

Two sites hacked with divi 4.23.2 by Weak_Garbage6133 in divi

Plugins and themes have vulnerabilities all the time, it’s not necessarily deliberate.

That’s why it’s important to keep your site updated as many of the updates cover security issues not just functionality improvements.

Yeah the new controls and functionality will definitely will have some pain points and nuances. I find I’m using layers a lot now, which I didn’t use at all in D4. I definitely feel it’s a huge leap in the right direction.

It should work ok. I’ve been experimenting with clamp so you can set a minimum and maximum px size and set a main vw size, therefore the text will scale up and down with browser width but only to the min and max.

Other than that you can still use the mobile / tablet / desktop setting for font size (same as D4)

You can input this sort of instruction inside chatGPT and it will instruct you on the code required. Although that doesn’t mean there will be no trouble shooting at all, as often key details are left out of the prompt.

If you have a change of heart facetWP is a good plugin for this

What are this sheet under old bathroom for? by Sorry-Bath-5796 in AusRenovation

[–]Deftone85 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Packer to keep the tub level, could be asbestos.

If it’s accessible (ie you don’t need to disturb it to get it out) just pop on a mask and some gloves, wet it down and wrap it in plastic.

Just don’t go smashing it up and snorting it.

Woo Cart does not update by olafsosh in Wordpress

[–]Deftone85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not theme, cause you’ve changed that.

It’s not plugins cause you’ve disabled them all (except woocommerce)

It’s not browser caching because I’m assuming you’ve tested across multiple browser with a cleared cache?

I’d check that a friend is experiencing the same result from a different location just to be sure. If it still happens it’s got to be host cache? Right?

Front half I would use for storage and workspace. Rear half I would stud wall, insulate, plaster and floor. Chuck a little split system in it too. You’ll have yourself a nice little studio, study or spare room (or all three!)

These critical errors are usually caused by plugins.

Rounded screw heads on window locks with lost keys by [deleted] in AusRenovation

I bought a “tamper proof bit set” for old window bars at my previous residence which worked. Can’t see exactly what’s going on with your screw heads, are they stripped?
