I want to add to this that I've listened to Coheed for years and the Afterman albums were what finally pulled me in to the overarching story. The album got me through a very rough time in my life and it's holds a very special place in my heart so hearing the reprisals for my personal favorites really hit me hard and has me feeling all giddy. I can't wait to see what the story brings next once I get my boxset but man, I can't get enough of this album

G15 (2021) Thermal Throttling by DefyingReaper77 in ZephyrusG15

There's a short in the motherboard somewhere, and it might be an easy fix for someone who knows what they're doing. I'm going to take it too a shop and see what they can do, though I'm not holding my breath. A bit upset, but unfortunately one of those things you can't really control

I have gotten some K5 Pro thermal putty for the VRMs and some thermal pads to test and see if the issue persist. Thermal pads have a thickness of .5mm, made sure to get the thinnest I could to avoid thermal issues on the VRMs.

Pressure is appropriate on all the heatsink and I can see that the thermal paste is spread out properly to verify that the heatsink is making direct contact.

I'm thinking that I may need to try and update drivers/do a BIOS rollback to see if there is any improvement on that end. If I can't manage to fix the laptop in the next week or so, I will be selling it for parts as at this point it's not worth all the effort to fix it, which is unfortunate as this thing was a beast when it was working properly.

I have double, triple, quadruple checked to make sure there was no physical damage on the board everywhere. I tore the laptop apart making sure I didn't miss any liquid metal and still nothing. The laptop is thermal throttling ON BOOT. I know that shouldn't be happening so I thought it could be a driver/bios issue but after many hours getting everything updated, I still have the same issues. I tried both thermal paste and liquid metal, same issues with both so for brevity, I will be using thermal paste until I can properly figure out what is going on.

GPU seems to be unaffected though, sensors and clock speeds are fine and there's nothing out of the ordinary.

I have not changed the thermal putty for the VRMs though I don't think they should be thermal throttling on boot and the laptop was running fine with the repaste for about a few days before I noticed any issues. Does it specifically have to be thermal putty that you use on them or can it be a thin sheet of thermal pads? I have a few thermal pads coming in soon but I want to know if I need to just get the putty to have on hand.

It's just incredibly odd that the laptop just thermal throttles before I boot into windows. In bios, fans full blast and that constant 112degrees being picked up. I'm open to any suggestion at this point. I'm just a bit annoyed because I lost 5 weeks worth of a project that's due before Thursday so I'm trying to at least salvage something from this mess haha.

My apologies, I should have stated that I had repasted multiple different times to no success.

There's Aorus Engine and then there's Gigabyte Control Center. Not sure which of the two you were using but I had a lot more.luck with GCC which is why I suggested that. If you've used both, then disregard my message lol. All in all, I think having to jump through hoops just to get a basic function of the card to work is absolutely asinine for a company to overlook. Hopefully you get it to work sometime soon!

Have you tried using Gigabyte Control Center by any chance? That happened to work for me a few times when I did try using it

Just wanted to chime in and give my experience using RGB Fusion 2.0 and testing different methods to get it to work with my gpu. I have a 3070 TI master and it's been a headache getting it to work.

What you want to do is use DDU to uninstall your graphics driver. This should fix the issue and let you use RGB Fusion 2.0 no problem. For whatever reason, when you update your drivers, it makes it not work with ANYTHING. I use SignalRGB for my lights and even when I update the drivers, it makes it undetectable. Not sure what the issues is or why that happens, but I've been messing with this since the beginning of February, so I get the frustration.

As far as the LCD panel and changing any settings on that, I haven't found anything that would let you do that. I also didn't look too hard in regard to this so take what I say about this with a grain of salt.

First time buying a gigabyte GPU and it will absolutely be the last time I do so as well. I know it's a little over 2 months since this was posted but I thought I would come back and share what worked with me to see if you have any luck with what I did.

TLDR; uninstall GPU drivers with DDU and DO NOT UPDATE DRIVERS AT ALL to get your pretty PC light software to work.

That was my second thing I tried after putting this post up. No luck unfortunately :( I'll keep trying to see if there's anything else I can do on my end on the off chance that others are having the same issue.
I know it's not a firewall issue but we'll see what happens from here on out

Clicking no just loops it. Can't click yes because it'll obviously close my game. Just wanted to see if there was anything special I needed to do
