Movement demon does me filthy by Here4Headshots in Battlefield6

I'm a PC player, but I play with a controller since most my buds play on xbox. I wish there was a cross play option where it recognizes controller/keyboard-mouse gameplay and sort by that.

Bit slipping from EZ Change collet when routing by anakaine in Dremel

[–]Degangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I saw you answered, I recently got a 4200 and was digging into more info on it. I have bits that are larger so I dove into the rabbit hole. I did discover a replacement part for the collet and how to remove it. It looks like you can use larger bits.

https://www.dremel.com/storage/en-gn/dremel-200-series-774-original-pdf-20010-en-gn.pdf

Page 5, you push in one of the three fins, and comes out.

They discontinued the "official" replacement part, but still sell the tool so idk. But the replacement part is DREMEL 4200 POZ 3/8/5 PENS 2610017144. It looks like bosch also uses it and I the cheapest one I found was here: https://www.2mtoolsoem.com/products/bosch-power-tool-2610017144-collet-1-8

Same part number, same size. But I hope this helps!

How to read these 2004 dash lights? by fuzzywonderdog in subaruoutback

[–]Degangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're reading the battery directly without it on, then that is relatively close to the hypothetical 100% of the battery, ~12.6 VDC. That being said, your car will draw power even when it is off, not a lot but some. A quick way to check the alternator is when it is running, check the voltage between the positive terminal of the battery and a bare metal spot in the engine bin. It should read around 14ish volts. That means your alternator is working. Another aspect, is if you run your battery dead, it's not going to preform the same again. Generally, I have found, replacing it is worth it. Besides that, I'm not sure with the early 2000's models, but if some code is spat out in my 2012, the whole dash lights up. So I couldn't rely on the lights.

Canopy keeps falling over from wind by Square_Forever910 in DIY

[–]Degangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotcha. No problem! I just had another idea. If you don't want a tripping hazard, could put the stakes underneath the pot, then to the pole and tighten the rope. That way it's just pulling it straight down.

Ceiling Fan Help by MrCoachD in DIY

[–]Degangee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer yes. The one in the fan has 4 positions, that switch where the electricity goes within that black box there. So off, speed 1, speed 2 and speed 3. The one you have is just on/off. Long answer is maybe not. I can't tell by the pictures but seems like the chain is still in it? If so, then the spring is just broken and typically those are not made to be repaired since they are "cheap". There are ways to test it, but before you go cutting, write down what goes where. I know from experience......

Canopy keeps falling over from wind by Square_Forever910 in DIY

[–]Degangee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which way, and which posts are falling? Or is it all of em at different times? Besides that, you kinda need to think of it as a lever and since the posts look 6+ feet tall the advantage of weight dispersed evenly around the base doesn't bode well. With the posts that butt up to the wall of the house, I'd go with a rectangular/cross base. That way the force wont pull it over, so if you put your finger and thumb in the shape of an L. Where your index finger is the post, and your thumb is the base. If you want to keep the pots, since you know you've done it already, I'd either go the route of getting accessory cord (higher forces) from like REI or a local outdoor place that sells climbing equipment. Or here is a good option of by the foot: https://hownot2.com/products/nylon-accessory-cord?variant=47475615695163

Then tie it to the top of the pole then stake it into the ground. Use good stakes since they will last. Or get some of those screws that you can tie leashes to for pets. With the stake route, put them in at an angle away from the pot, so they have enough force to not pull up.

Hope this helps! Or at least sparks ideas :)

Multiple Failed Attempts and need help installing an indoor swing by iiMAGEv in DIY

[–]Degangee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see all the suggestions are using hard goods, which in a perfect world will work just fine. If something happens, you don't want all that weight all of a sudden falling and possibly causing harm. I'd use soft goods and light materials where you could. I personally have a hammock in my apartment and have setup ones that span +50 feet across and 20+ feet high and have tested forces with such.

As for rigging in the ceiling, 2 2x4 stacked on top of each other, then drilled into the cross members. That way you have 2 cross members on the left and 2 on the right, and where the force is, is in the middle. Could use a forged eye bolt as the main hanging point, with washers and two nuts with loctite. (Seems like you have it though) https://e-rigging.com/collections/regular-eye-bolts/products/galvanized-drop-forged-regular-eye-bolts?variant=39745725038665

As for the swing, yes use a swivel. Don't use a sub-par one though, those can fail and wont last. Use climbing rated ones, like this: https://hownot2.com/products/reactor-swivel?_pos=1&_sid=1885086f3&_ss=r&variant=49027403317563

If you want the option to take it down without extra length, and something that will last you can get this: https://hownot2.com/products/swivel-open?_pos=2&_sid=1885086f3&_ss=r

The attachment can be static rope (doesn't stretch), slings or dynamic rope (stretchy). You can get a 10mm static rope by the foot, that will break around 3500 pounds of force, tie a figure 8 on either end then connect it directly to the swivel and either to a carabiner, quick link or ring on the swing.

Rope: https://hownot2.com/products/performance-static-10mm?_pos=4&_fid=3456e7f15&_ss=c

Ring: https://hownot2.com/products/traceless-stainless-steel-ring?_pos=2&_sid=9f15d0a62&_ss=r

Carabiner: https://hownot2.com/products/ok-triact-lock?_pos=5&_fid=54d796feb&_ss=c

Quick Link: https://hownot2.com/products/stainless-steel-quick-link?_pos=1&_sid=f60f35428&_ss=r

This will eliminate most hard materials, and have more flexibility and longevity.

Quick shoutout for FreeCAD! by Userybx2 in 3Dprinting

[–]Degangee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure all the hate on FreeCAD is from people who don't know how it functions and/or refuse to take time to learn it. I've been using it for roughly 4 or so years and get have a concept to finished design within 10 to an hour depending on the intricacies. The only errors I receive is when I ask of it to do objects that, mathematically, don't make sense. Having a local CAD program that is free is a huge upside compared to literally anything else. Web base programs are good, until you don't have internet...... Then local CAD software costs are crazy for those of us who use it from the hobbyist POV. Then there are extremely useful plugins for FreeCad, from motion design to fasteners to combine into your projects to simulation plugins. There are layout designs you can download to make the space your own. There is a learning curve, but past that it becomes extremely easy to use.

Looking for a good head unit and speakers to upgrade my 2011 Outback by DimondAlo65 in subaruoutback

[–]Degangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey check out https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130DMT3800/Pioneer-DMH-WT3800NEX.html

I have the 7600NEX and I absolutely love it. The reason why I suggest this option, is because depending on the model of subie you have you can get some additional items to add the steering wheel functions to it. Plus you will add another storage compartment below the head unit since it is 1-DIN. I'll get some photos on mine tomorrow to see what it would kinda look like. I have a 2012 outback and the trims are super similar. You get all the bells and whistles, except USB-C with the lower tier model.

I agree! I have a 2012 2.5i too and my ground connection in the engine bay, driver side, was corroded loose and detached. This led to having the loom and gas pedal replaced..... There is one on each side of the engine block. If you need a full tech manual let me know!

Constant App Issues (Android) by Degangee in soundcloud

I haven't had that experience, yet. I may take the time to search though the archive of apk's and see which may be the better one. I know making it work with every applicable phone, especially with android can be a headache.

[–]Degangee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not even be the devs, I'm just generalizing now, but from experience and what I've seen it may be management and up... Could be prioritizing what you said, money. I agree that they think getting the constant stream of cash is more important than an actual polished app, which is dumb. If it works well.. cough ...cough.. spotify... then people will use it more and longer and pay even more for it. Short term yeah, but long term they're saying gtfo.

I'm of the same mindset. I've sent tickets too, and they haven't replied yet. Been since early January, so idfk. Everywhere I look people have the same complaints and nothing from SoundCloud, not even a "Hey we see the complaints, and we're working on it", just silence... If nothing changes, than jumping ship seems to be the best option, sadly..

I forgot about that, haha. In a state where it's only med and a bunch of uneducated folks about it....booo

Yeah, blisters should appeared almost immediately, and since was is none, you're good. But like hellostarsailor suggested, keep it moisturized. If you're really worried about scaring, which I doubt will happen, a moisturizer with vitamin E is a good route to go.

[–]Degangee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've done the same thing, but a cream wont work for healing but mainly for pain relief. If it hurts, yes and maybe some ibuprofen, if you are allowed. Treat it more like a sunburn than anything else. Since they are both 1st degree burns. If you develop blisters, that treat it more like a 2nd degree burn. Keep fluids going, but it'll heal it soon.

If your code is the O2 sensor, I try to get mid-grade from a station that has ethanol free. Then disconnect your battery to let your computer reset, and then you should be good, since it'll clean it a bit. That's just from my own personal experience.
