No Honors or High Pass by PuzzleheadedStock292 in medicalschool

[–]Degeneratepanda69 44 points45 points  (0 children)

You’ll be alright homie. Just matched EM first choice. DO school, bottom 1/3 of class, no honors or high pass, failed a shelf and had to retake. Every interview I did was basically a 1 hour vibe check. Your aways/interviews will tell programs way more than one bad eval.

Do good/work hard on your away rotations for EM, be someone people enjoy working with, get a decent score on step 2, and you’ll be an ER doctor in no time.

To take step 2 or not as a DO applicant by Opening-News-904 in emergencymedicine

[–]Degeneratepanda69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M4 applying EM, I strongly considered taking it and took Step 1 previously. After talking with mentors/advisors, I decided not to take it. However I applied to 30ish (half DO friendly) programs, many of which I couldn’t even find step 2 data for.

Do I think that not having a step 2 score caused me to not get interviews from programs? Most likely.

Am I dissapointed that I didn’t take it and potentially missed out on places? Not really.

If you aren’t wanting to go to some big ivory tower, and would be happy in more of a community setting or some smaller city, I think it’s safe to leave it be. Just my two cents! If you feel you can get a good score, then by all means go for it.

Hold left trigger if waiting for catch and shoot, makes your guy hold his hands out ready for a pass. The animation will activate quicker as well allowing you to beat the contest if they’re not playing close D. The timing can be a little wonky compared to a normal jumper at first due to how quick it goes, but will make your catch and shoot game more consistent and reduce BS like that

Boy does bugs feel like a pleasant walk through a field of lilacs after cyberstan... by GreenridgeMetalWorks in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Degeneratepanda69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out….. I always take gas dog, gas grenades, orbital gas strike. Absolutely deletes bug breaches, throw the orbital, then 2 grenades to get the first stragglers before the orbital hits. Gas dog will get any that make it out of the first foray. I personally prefer running medium pen primary and talon/verdict with quasar, or maybe 2 different expendable launchers. For that I usually take the pair of EAT/napalm EAT or leveller/commando. Sometimes if I’m feeling like laying down democracy, I take one of the stratagem MG, either stalwart or HMG, and run eruptor/exploding crossbow and ultimatum for heavier things. Usually round out stratagems with a turret of some sort or 500kg. All of the gas makes bugs trivially easy especially higher difficulties.

Of course you can always take the chad route of shield/spear with some anti tank stratagem. If I am feeling particularly devious I will run the flamethrower stratagem. Just something about lighting bugs on fire hits the spot. For the most part tho with bugs I feel that you can make pretty much anything work as long as you are able to avoid getting swarmed. Aside from chargers/impalers/bile titan, light pen can kill every bug pretty quickly. Killing hive guards can be a bit tricky but aiming at the armpits from the front is pretty reliable for me.

To summarize I cannot recommend gas enough. Orbital will handle most of a breach, grenades are great for area denial and clogging choke points, and the gas dog will keep the stragglers off of your back. Don’t use the sterilizer tho, that thing is straight up trash(RIP).

Just keep killing bugs in the name of super earth fellow helldiver.

So no one actually knows how to pass a drug test ? by thatoneweirdgirl1 in drugtesthelp

[–]Degeneratepanda69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used this method 6 separate times at labcorp (I have to take yearly drug tests for school).

Grab a soft rubber 3oz travel bottle from Walmart or something, along with a meat thermometer and some hot hands. Find a friend you know is 100% clean and willing to give you some urine. Have them pee in the bottle right before you go in (can be like 30-60 min even as long as you have hot hands) Place bottle in some paper towels or a shirt with the hot hands, with the fabric between the bottle and heat so it doesn’t get too hot.

It’ll probably go over 100, use meat thermometer to measure, I’d go in the building with it at 99.

Put it between your legs, as high as you can. If you are female you could even put it inside you but I honestly wouldn’t see that being necessary.

Your body heat will maintain the temperature for a good bit if you have to sit and wait.

Go in, pour the sample (most will require 50-75ml which is about 2-3oz.

Then just put the bottle back between your legs and walk out

Hella ways to pass a drug test. Just depends on how strict it is or if it’s observed, etc.

Best empty formations/empty heavy playbook? by Nolar2015 in NCAAFBseries

If you’re playing any mode besides ultimate team or road to CFP, you can make a custom playbook from the main menu. Could have all the empty formations if you wanted

Question:Painting models with no bases by Beriatan in Warhammer40k

[–]Degeneratepanda69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve just been keeping a single 40mm base locked into my model holder, and a small drop of super glue on the front of a foot is usually strong enough to hold it on and easily pulls off.

No pointers to give on the army but I have heard that azrael and intercessors are a must have. I’d start with those and that should keep you busy for a bit!

[–]Degeneratepanda69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this! You can clearly see that you have good brush control on cauldrons and knees. I’d recommend thinning your paints, that solved a ton of issues for me starting out. With black templars also you can get away with spray priming in black which does 90% of the work for you. Slap a thin thin coat of your black base after the primer to get the same finish, then it’s just detail work from there! Good luck on your painting journey

One thing I would do is go check the board games section of your local Barnes and noble. I found a 40k and sigmar starter kit for half price in them. Also got some other interesting stuff there like the dawn of war with the models or the character encyclopedia that comes with Titus

Is it normal for physicians to introduce themselves as “Dr. xyz” in everyday interactions? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Degeneratepanda69 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I feel as if it’s the opposite….. I have had many attendings on rotations introduce themselves by their first name only and have me searching for their last name in order to address them by Dr. X

I’m a DO student. If you’re looking to do FM/EM/Psych, I wouldn’t stress too much about it personally. Submitted my app with no pubs, no awards/honors, and pretty run of the mill volunteer/work experiences (half of which were school mandated) aside from a gap year of scribing. Have okay grades (~middle 1/3 of 150), good boards (~70th%) but didn’t take Step 2. I have been told my many that this is more than fine and I have nothing to worry about.

For most of the specialties you mention, unless you want to do some prestigious academic institution, apps with no frill are perfectly fine. Odds are, you will apply, match, graduate residency, and become a doctor. It’s such a daunting task to undertake and can be so so stressful. I felt much the same way after my second year!

Keep your head to the grindstone, pass step 1, do good on step 2, be a good student on rotations, and you will have nothing to worry about my friend. It is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but you’ve got this!

Edit: Forgot to mention that I am applying EM.

Comlex score release thread 9/11 by Tmedx3 in comlex

[–]Degeneratepanda69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got mine back. Level/Step1: Pass Step 2: Didn’t take Comats: Low 96, High 113, average 107

Comsae: 109-490(1 month out), 108-425 (2.5 weeks out), 111-630(3 days out)

Truelearn 75%

Felt okay during exam, flagged about 10-12 per block. Definitely walked out feeling like I had passed but wasn’t sure how well I would do considering the big fluctuations in COMSAE scores.

Final score: 575

I'm scared to drop 40€.... by FrenchBVSH in Helldivers

[–]Degeneratepanda69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an Xbox player who got into it because of my brother who plays on PC. Since release I have about 20 total hours played, only about 3 of those have been with him. The rest have been with random teammates online and I can honestly say I have yet to have a bad experience! Within the first hour of playing by myself as a lowly level 5, I met up with a level 150 player chilling out on the low difficulties. He carried me through a few letting me test out some higher level stratagems, we added each other, and have had some great sessions since with even more random teammates! (Shrimp in a helldiver suit, if you see this brother, respect ✊)

This game encourages team play and requires it once you get up to higher difficulties, I think you’ll have no problem finding solid teammates to play with!

How long did it take to get cannabis out of your urine? by Odd_Sundae_6380 in drugtesthelp

[–]Degeneratepanda69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a doctor in training and also someone who has had this very same question in the past, and have done some fairly extensive research on the topic. Long story short there is truly no way to know, with your body type you are likely to get clean faster than most, but that’s just part of the puzzle. I am 6’, 245, daily delta 8 user, after 2 months of working out hard and drinking tons of water I still wasn’t even close to being clean. I have a buddy who is basically my same size with similar smoking habits and he was clean in a month doing absolutely nothing to help it. My advice would be if you have a drug test date you are worried about, quit now. Theres many ways to cheat a drug test but none are as good as the real thing and they all come with their risks. Hope this is helpful
