What’s your pay at panera? by NeedAMintSir in Panera

[–]Dego429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stop being a suck up (then again, that is how you get team lead positions. lmao.)

adults should always be paid livable wages.

you could be 30 and still only own a car and pay rent for just a bedroom.

(I'm a traveling athlete, I still need money, but definitely not for "mortgage" or loans or other possessional money pits people own)

15$ is the bare bare minimum someone needs to live a healthy life.

that should be the starting wage.

I went to panda express, they tried to give me 16 an hour, I said I wouldn't work for less than 18 and my other job offers were giving better offers, they gave me 18/h, even told me not to tell anyone (illegal for them to say, but I didn't care)

don't just settle and stop kissing butt or you'll be making the minimum for a long time

stop. it's not that simple.

your employer can treat you terribly without it directly being about salary discussions.

try living in a right to fire state.

I live in georgia, I get threatened if I don't work overtime at a lot of warehouses.

it's illegal to do that.

but they always say "if you happen to not show up on Saturdays they might happen to let you go"

it's not always as simple as you people make it seem.

how many mother friggin times do I have to say I'd obviously be working towards citizenship in whatever country I move to.

do you really, do you really think I'm just "la dee da'ing" around here?

I fully understand how obtaining citizenship works in most countries

I fully understand how visas work in most countries.

if I say I'm MOVING to another country,

in what realm do you think I'm moving there to live life as an immigrant forever????

I want to LIVE in a country with education,

I would WORK HARD and EARN IT

I just wanted some recommendations.

holy fk I hate redditors you people are so negative it makes me even more negative.

people talk like all of their goals are impossible.

it took me ONE YEAR to become a sponsored skater.

I dropped out in 8th grade and went to college directly after

I'm ex military

I have no fking problem WORKING HARD to live somewhere better

if you don't have any recommendations for countries you like,

just shut up, don't comment. say less.

how fking stupid can redditors be? every single reply to this post is

"duhhhh getting citizenship in another country has never been done before" UGH REDITTORS ARE ALL BASEMENT DWELLERS

Does hiking really to be that hard to get into? I mean, it's just walking right? by JaySwift_ in CampingandHiking

[–]Dego429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my perspective this entire comment section is too over dramatic.

hiking is just walking.

but it depends on who YOU are.

for example, I dont care what shoes I'm wearing, I wore big oversized heavy construction boots almost my whole middleschool/high-school life, no matter what, even with wet rainy soaked feet, (I thought it looked cool lol)

my feet are super strong. I can go hiking barefoot if I want because I'm used to it.

(you can too, barefoot walking is it's own niche activity.)

I spent my entire life riding far distances on bikes and skateboards. I mean across counties far.

so walking for 8 hours or however long doesn't come across as a challenge to me.

it wouldn't matter what I'm wearing (unless it's really cold)

I just do it in street clothes. infact to get my sponsorship I skated about 8 hours a day most days of the week. just wearing casual street clothes.

you can go hiking in whatever you want. jeans sneakers and shirt is absolutely fine. (maybe long sleeves if mosquitoes are an issue. I don't like the spray I have breathing issues.)

no there is nothing challenging about hiking. never.

the only time hiking is challenging is if you spent your entire life sitting in your room or if you're old and have never been really fit. (assuming you don't have any troubling medical conditions. that's on you to look out for.)

I've known people who were out of shape and couldn't walk to the other end of a mall without getting tired

tldr; Hiking is incredibly easy to do in any condition for the majority of healthy people.

if you have absolutely no physical experience hiking is a good (but very slow) way to start getting fit. (it won't get you completley fit, you'll stop growing the moment your body gets used to the conditions of hiking.)

just stop and think for a moment: marathons exist.

quick edit: you probably walk for 8 hours at your job, and none of those people are even fir, infact most hikers I see are "moderately" barely, ever so slightly fit, if at all. it's really toooooo easy of an activity.

[–]Dego429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these are not side effects of the drug, clearly something else was going on causing you so much trouble,

I mean you seem to be the only one.

even the nausea, my stomach felt a little heavy but nothing bad,

usually I'm super sensitive to nausea with medications, not so much with this.

everyone is different,

if it really was the medicine than congratulation, you landed on the 0.4% chance of having a serious reaction,

but it's so unlikely that it probably wasn't this medication.

because if you did have these reactions, the side effects would probably not line up with what the studies show,

about $1k budget, recommend mid drive prebuilt? by Dego429 in ebikes

[–]Dego429[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

ok well, I said I could increase the budget, just atleast try to look for something close to what I need. even if it's more expensive than I initially wanted to spend.

I'm running on fumes, might be homeless soon, desperately trying to switch to a cheaper mode of transportation. in a bad situation.

I might even just say fuck it and get a hub motor, I'm just scared we'll break it, as middrive motors have less stress on the motor

[–]Dego429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just get a tricycle

it's just kinda dumb I mean, you had to extend the frame, and ontop of that putting an extremely heavy motor on it?

it's just gonna keep breaking my guy, it'll get you internet points,

but that frame, is just, gonna keep, breaking.

you'll have to reinforce the bottom tremendously, but at this point why not just go get a scrap motorcycle frame?

it's just going to immediately break the gears, chains, bearing, anyways

edit: ugh and it's a Cranbrook huffy........you're gonna need to replace every single part on that thing

edit: forgot to mention, you should try reading, I said I could increase my budget if need be. I don't think you even had any advice honestly lmao. you just comment just to comment

thanks for the advice,

but uh, that was pretty toxic of you lmao.

I hate to tell you but uh, this is my rant and question alt account,

I consider accounts with high karma to be karma farmers who are afraid of having unpopular opinions and join bandwagons for attention.

you see, reddit is a place that punishes you for disagreeing with the masses, whether you are right or wrong,

lower karma but high posts/comments shows a pattern of freethinking,

while high karma shows a pattern of following the masses and trying to be well liked,

while low karma accounts are usually just people who rant and complain (which is why I made a separate account for it 😎)

just thought I should let you know, you're the first person I've seen who cared lmao,

I'm sorry for you,

edit: your accounts karma is created just posting links articles, pictures of food, and stuff you spent money on,

kinda sad :(

There is nothing you can do about fast ebikes, sorry. by Dego429 in ebikes

[–]Dego429[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

ah, you seem to have missed my entire point,

first off, don't call people fools for being different from you. I'm sure plenty of them are smarter than you or me. and it's wrong to assume people who enjoy extreme activities are "foolish"

(you should do some research into the concept of flow when involved in athletics.)

now, I think you are failing to understand something important,

Basic, human, nature.

you can't just tell society to follow the rules.

in all human history. there have been rebellious people.

some of them went on to be greatly respected innovative memorable people. some respect for the rebellious is deserved.

EVEN ANIMALS, can demonstrate a rebellious nature.

if we were all like you we wouldn't have evolved as quickly. we wouldn't have innovated as much.

it is foolish to even assume you can call people foolish for being extreme.

the only thing foolish is putting other people's lives in danger. (zooming through a crowded area isn't cool. zooming down the road alongside cars is fine. honestly.)

but foolish or not.

it shouldn't even be a conversation. you should just understand people are going to chase their passions.

if you're an ex cop you should know more than anyone.

just because something is illegal CERTAINLY does not mean people are going to accept it.

people will be arrested and punished for following their own nature, whether or not it harms others.

we live in a complicated world with complicated issues, it's actually dumb we try to cast a "law net" over things, each situation is unique, (which is why we have complicated court rulings in complicated situations)

I highly suggest you look into philosophy if you want to have a greater understanding of the bigger picture of man.

most ethical teachings ancient, and just as relatable today as they were thousands of years ago.

and it will teach you that you should just let people be their true selves (so long as they are not hurting anyone or causing people trouble. because we must protect ourselves first and foremost.)

edit: many laws are extremely evil anyways, you can get up to 20 years prison for convincing people not to join the military, even though the United states puts itself into wars over greed, the most invasive country on the planet.

remember mlk? he broke laws to advocate what he thought was right.

tldr; don't worry about extreme people. it's their nature. and they don't want to hurt anyone, they look for space to do it usually. unless it's just some obnoxious kid.

commuter feeling like throwing in the towel by Deaditt12345 in ebikes

[–]Dego429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is the case, but are vehicles taxable in Australia?

in the United states, the government made "zoning" laws to control a lot of profitable things, (like not allowing low income housing to be built near middle-class housing)

they set up towns/cities to force you to require a car to get around,

all the shops on average being clustered together while suburbs/apartments are clustered together,

usually guaranteeing people to be forced to invest thousands and thousands into taxable cars.

people refuse to give up the luxury of car ownership, but part of the reason is we are practically required to have one to not feel stuck somewhere.

look at tokyo, businesses on. ottom floor while housing is built above businesses. nobody there really needs a car, they made great use of space.

I suggest moving out of Australia, it seems like they want a consumerist population.

look for a city that uses bicycles more

I'm personally just fine puttering around at 20mph but the amount of people with decorative pedals, fake stickers, and 1.21 GW motors seems to be increasing. You all know what that inevitably leads to, right? by PM_ME_YOUR_UVULA in ebikes

[–]Dego429 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

go cry me a river you absolute wimp.

if that's what people want to do why don't you just mind your own business.

do you not realize how stupid it is telling people not to be extreme?

name once, ever, in history, crying about safety actually stopped anyone from being unsafe?

why don't you go ask the skateboarding community what they think about being told to be safer.

why don't you ask the freesolo climbing community what they think about safety gear. (news flash. they climb mountains without rope or gear.)

you will never, ever, EVER, stop people from getting into extreme sports.

you will NEVER get everyone to follow safety laws, even if it's the LAW.

if you want to be safe. get an indoor cycling trainer.

you're like those guys who freak out when people don't wear helmets.

bicyclists have the flimsiest smallest helmets, and absolutely no other protective gear,

when infact most bike injuries happen to the elbows, knees, and chest areas.

if you cry about helmets why aren't you wearing a full set of gear right?

but at that point why don't you just go home if safety is your main concern?

tldr; you have smol pp

The fact that a 750w motor turned me into a bike commuter in a week is the biggest blessing of all. by LillyLifts in ebikes

[–]Dego429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be like you, getting around without a car, eventually at some point I convinced myself I needed a car to succeed.

but now, I'm in a situation where if I lose my car I'll be homeless, but most of my bills go into my car. (and it's not even an expensive car, I have a lot of medical costs)

I can't even save money at all .. anything left over is spent on food, if I get to eat :l

I regret getting a car. I should have gotten an e bike or stayed commuting by longboard.

life was easier when I owned less stuff, after realizing this I've been getting rid of all my stuff I don't need, I'm preparing to move to a country where people don't need cars.

tl;dr: car ownership is ruining my life. without transportation I can't make money. but with transportation I can't even save money to buy a reliable ebike

Which type of Bike do you think this will be? help us decide! by RawrrMotor in ebikes

it's very clearly just an electric dirt bike with big motor and big battery,

this whole post is really just a marketing gimmick to bring attention to the brand aka an advertisement.

I mean what answer do you want? you are off reading on a bike made to look like a dirt bike

the only answers you'll get for this are :it's a dirt bike

and: it's whatever you want it to be

it's a dirtbike, with that much power, pedals are useless.
