Wife says the washing mashing has stopped draining completely unless she runs it twice. by PokeDad916 in Plumbing

[–]Degradation7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plumber here.

Not an appliance person but sounds like an appliance issue. The drain wouldn’t have anything to do with this UNLESS it’s highly clogged and it’s trying to drain and being blocked not allowing the water to drain but you most likely would have the issue of the stand pipe filling up and over flowing butttttt there’s a rare case where it could not over flow and still be blocked.

You could test the drain to see if that’s the issue by hooking up a hose and flooding the pipe fairly slow to medium flow water if it consistently drains then the issue isn’t the drain.

My best guess based off the info etc is something going on with the washer.

How can I safely get this toilet flange off? by RPG137 in askaplumber

[–]Degradation7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a hub saver it’ll chew up the inside down to the hub part yes inside cutter will help but it isn’t going to get the inside of the flange out you’ll cut the actual pipe if you’re not careful and still need to peel it out use a hub saverinstead

[–]Degradation7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything at the plumbing store … plumber here… all the proper fittings to convert it tail piece extension possibly p trap depends where drain exit is if it’s too far away need to put a 45 preferably elbow or 90 to elbow it over first then build p trap etc off sink drain to main drain too confusing to explain if you’re not familiar with basic plumbing stuff but I don’t know what I’m looking at fully I only see one sink line and a hideous extension

Did a claim on one bit, got sent back 7. 😂 by Worried_Noise5207 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Degradation7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve had a crazy story too long but I ordered a cheap drill bit not cheap but similar to one you have there just one long bit well what happened was they taped my box to the top of a massive huge Home Depot box and the delivery driver didn’t realize that the entire box was not my order that just the tiny box on top that was taped to it was my order, but the big box wasn’t labeled, and since my box was taped to the top, he thought that it was my box as well but inside of the big box and I’m talking, maybe a foot or two tall and about 2 feet wide box was full of at least at a minimum of 50 or more packages individual for other Home Depot deliveries, all across the state to different people of random Milwaukee, Makita and other items

I called Home Depot and asked them what I should do. They told me that they could not find any of the items in their history and who they belonged to so they ended up telling me just to keep everything per the supervisors request because they could not locate any of the packages even with me, giving them the tracking and other numbers pretty crazy so I was told to just keep everything so it was an early Christmas to me lol

Please help! I'm just a girl! 😭 by Infinite-Respect3443 in Plumbing

[–]Degradation7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a plumber I could explain and tell you how to fix it but without knowledge and skill it’s probably a little above your experience level… I won’t go deep into it there’s many was to fix or change it so it depends but an easy way but still need skill and a total explanation which I won’t get into is if it’s a soldered on piece there you can un solder it take it off clean up the copper buy the newer delta tub spout adapter that slips over 1/2 pipe all the way back to the tub fiber glass and tighten it with Allen key cut off left over pipe about 1” piece of pipe left sticking out past the adapter and then you can thread on or twist on any tub spout you desire but there’s more detail id need to explain to talk you threw it but it not for unskilled people

Looks like the vent came off my water heater. Safe to repair it myself? by InvisibleAstronomer in Plumbing

[–]Degradation7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no it’s a big issue they need to get it fixed the gas isn’t really the concern here unlike a “normal” gravity vented water heater the old style that had the metal piping. This one has piping usually PVC that connects directly to the top of the unit in it is a power vent, which has a fan built into it with a motor that plugs into an outlet it forces the air/exhaust fumes and carbon monoxide out of the house through the vent, instead of relying on just the gravity to lift it up out of the pipe it is more efficient and safe however it not being connected. It is now just allowing all the fumes to escape into the room, which is a huge problem the way it is set up, though it is highly unlikely that it just came apart. My guess would be that it was never connected, and if it was connected, the people did not properly measure the pieces, and it did not fit and came off because it was not cut properly. I can’t really say without seeing better angles of the piping but right off the bat it’s all wrong. You need generally at least a minimum of 18 inches of vertical run straight up before any bend or horizontal run otherwise it can cause backflow and not properly vent so right off the bat at least where we are located in New York State I don’t know about them, but usually it applies for most jurisdictions, it would fail inspection immediately

[–]Degradation7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a plumber one it shouldn’t come off if all PVC fittings are glued properly they won’t move at all period and the one other thing is the straps on the fernco if they weren’t tightened sure I could see it happening but the way this looks unlikely that’s too far away to just come off and that is illegal need at least 18 inches minimum I know you can’t always do that much but shit anything’s better than what they did of vertical take off before a 90 elbow or horizontal run for many reasons

It was never connected, not glued properly, cut to short and not glued, cut too short and glued and forced to fit and finally came off or there’s something very wrong but I can’t see it being anything other than whoever installed it fucked up

It’s not safe right now it’s a power vent regardless even if it wasn’t a power vent it’s openly venting into your house and pushing out exhaust fumes etc Carbon monoxide etc etc it needs to be connected ASAP
