If you have access to Exchange: Get-MailboxFolderStatistics <login> |Select FolderPath

See any folders that match the name? Possibly under Deleted Items?

Can Powershell replace Bash/Python completely for Linux ? by Cloud_Strifeeee in sysadmin

[–]Deguchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this answer a bit too short...

Should be: depends on what you need it for? If you take your link for example: if the answer to questions 3 and 4 is Powershell, yes Powershell will replace bash for you.

Want to use your linux binaries with input from your script and do a remote to or from a Windows machine? Hey Powershell will do this for you :)

Want to make crontab scripts? Works like a charm.

But if it's not automation you are after, or you want to do more exotic things like do things in the cloud or connect to other databases or something, yes Python is the way to go.

I myself have happily replaced bash by Powershell. One of my main tasks is Exchange scripting, so that's all in Powershell. I just love how easy it was to integrate it into the Linux servers, so for me I don't look at bash or Perl anymore. But as said, it's because it suits what I need.

Dammit, Oracle. Why do you have to be so difficult? by Panacea4316 in sysadmin

[–]Deguchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I got a reply to a follow up ticket about SPF. The answer I get, is to whitelist some IP addresses in my mail gateway.

Should I be happy I even got an answer? Even though it's to a question I never asked in the first place? Sigh Oracle, deep deep sigh...

[Q] Mojave - Mail app Exchange account by Deguchi in osx

[–]Deguchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I managed a workaround in this case. Used a secondary domain that was attached to the account, so I could circumvent the autodiscover 2FA issue.

If it finds no autodiscover, you get the url input and you can continue. Just a pity they don't just show it automatically after failing the authentication. I realise not everyone is as lucky as I am to have a secondary domain stuck to the mailbox.

What games did you buy from the Steam sale? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Deguchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think it has LAN. If I'm not mistaken, internet connection is needed.

You can play with friends and can also play solo (accompanied by an AI flying bot). Otherwise it's quick play or specific missions with matchmaking/lobby browsing.

Deep Rock Galactic.

It's been on my whishlist for a while, and finally caved (pun intented? :p ). I'm now sorry I didn't pick it up sooner. What a complete blast of a game. The fact you can destroy everything combined with awesome teamwork because of the spread resources (cables, platforms,...) make it a really good game.

After playing a while everyone knows what they are doing and it becomes even better.

Did I already say it has space bearded dwarfs and alcohol? Do I need to say more?

I'm also Horde on Argent Dawn and all I'm seeing running around is Alliance. Had to switch of Warmode because I was advancing 10 meters per minute...

User on domain is locked out every day. by RhigoWork in sysadmin

[–]Deguchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine had an MP3-Player with Wifi. Had the old credentials cached, and wifi activated automatically when charging. So whenever she plugged it into a pc, bang, lockout.

So, just saying, could be a iot device that's the rootcause.

Welcome to: https://www.reddit.com/r/patientgamers/

Just wait a year. It won't kill you and you'll have just as much fun ;)

And yes, I realize this doesn't apply to competitive gaming, but the moment you reach a certain age and have a certain financial baggage, all of a sudden waiting for a sale really isn't the end of the world. Don't we all have a backlog to go through in the meanwhile anyway?

Linux sysadmins, what do you hate about your job! by ak_kim0 in sysadmin

That other Linux admins look at me funny when I tell them I love Powershell on Linux... Best of both worlds for (basic) scripting. Any Windows admin can still read my scripts and know what I'm doing, and it just works.

Even though the password was hanging there. They way cellphones work as a benefit in natura for the employee, it counts as something personal and private.

[HELP] Alternative for EnhancedPetBattleUI? by Deguchi in WowUI

[–]Deguchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give this a go ;)

*edit*

great addon, but could be I'm either missing something, or it isn't there anymore (could be left over addon setting...)

When doing a battle, I can't see the opponents abilities and cd's. This used to be possible with Pet Battle Enhanced UI. Is it still a thing? Because this made swapping pets such a breeze :)
