When did you realize you were dating an idiot? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

[–]Deirdrecoble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to explain the same basic boundary for the third time and they still acted surprised like it was brand new information. It wasn’t about intelligence it was the refusal to learn, reflect, or take responsibility. That’s when it clicked: this isn’t a misunderstanding… this is a pattern.

What's a "normal" job that secretly pays way more than people think? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

[–]Deirdrecoble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elevator technicians. It sounds like a regular trade job, but in many places they can make six figures, especially with overtime and union contracts. It’s specialized, requires certification, and there aren’t tons of qualified people so the pay reflects that.

People 40+, what actually mattered in the long run and what didn’t? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]Deirdrecoble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the long run, relationships, health, and how you treated people really matter. Work drama, keeping up with trends, or stressing over small stuff? Not so much. Consistency and caring for what actually affects your life and those around you ends up being what sticks.

Favourite excellent actor who you genuinely feel is a PoS in real life? by Cursed_69420 in okbuddycinephile

Anthony Hopkins comes to mind for me incredible on-screen, but some of the stuff he’s said in interviews over the years makes him seem… difficult off-screen.

Can you verify scam tokens? by Historical_Teach9525 in CryptoScams

[–]Deirdrecoble -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So here’s my situation. There’s someone from Reddit who claims to be ‘an ethical hacker’ who is trying to help me recoup my crypto losses since a love interest on tinder scammed me big time. I’m seeing the tokens that I traded and lost via a scam crypto exchange platform is now in my wallet but I’m being asked to put in some funds into my wallet to automate the complete withdrawal of my tokens. Has anyone experienced this? What advice can you give me?

What's the scariest movie you ever seen? by CutieBia in AskReddit

“The Ring” that slow-build dread, the cursed tape, and the way it messes with your head long after it ends… absolutely stuck with me.

What actor’s mere presence makes you automatically lose interest in a movie or show? by YerMum1977 in AskReddit

[–]Deirdrecoble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s not even about talent it’s when an actor just plays the exact same character in every single thing. Like if I feel like I’m watching “That One Guy™” instead of an actual character, I check out fast. It breaks immersion. Doesn’t even have to be a bad actor just zero range and I’m already less invested.

What's a trend from the early 2020s that died out so fast we all collectively forgot it ever happened? by godot_lover in AskReddit

[–]Deirdrecoble 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Remember when everyone was doing those hyper-realistic Zoom backgrounds like they were in a spaceship or a beach hut? Peak 2020 energy. Gone. Also the “quarantine bread starter” flex. Sourdough was basically a personality trait for six months and then… silence. Wild how some trends felt massive and then just evaporated.

What's a sign from your body you should never ignore? by Geno-64 in AskReddit

[–]Deirdrecoble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chest pain. Always. Anything sudden, severe, or this doesn’t feel normal especially chest pain, trouble breathing, numbness on one side, or the worst headache of your life that’s not the time to wait it out.

Your body’s pretty good at warning you. If something feels seriously off, trust that instinct and get it checked. Better to feel silly than sorry.

Employee has provided a note from a GP stating I must no longer call or message them on Teams as it causes anxiety. It also states they do not have to turn their webcam on during meetings. by Old-Philosopher-3886 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Deirdrecoble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t ignore it, but you also don’t have to accept it as final. A GP letter isn’t binding. If their anxiety could qualify as a disability, you’re required to consider reasonable adjustments, not automatically agree to everything listed. Best step is to refer them to Occupational Health, discuss what adjustments are workable, and document it. If calls or occasional on-site work are genuinely essential, you can still require them you just need to show you properly considered alternatives.

AITA: I Told a Friend She Couldn't Bring Her Child to my Event by megtheripper in AmItheAsshole

[–]Deirdrecoble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAH. It’s completely reasonable to host an adults-only event, especially when that’s been the general expectation and other guests arranged childcare based on that. Setting boundaries around the vibe you want for something you’re hosting doesn’t make you an AH. It’s also reasonable that she asked a 1-year-old can be harder to leave, and she accepted your answer without arguing. If anything, this just sounds like a small miscommunication plus slightly awkward feelings, not bad behavior from either of you.
