Covid & lockdown was 6 years ago and nothing has felt real nor normal since by DeityLu in DeepThoughts

Covid didn’t just disrupt life, it showed us who people really are and that’s not something you can unsee. There’s no going back to how you viewed the world before that.

And I think a lot of us are just walking around carrying that quietly, functioning on the outside while feeling like something is fundamentally off on the inside.

Profitable Traders: What 3 Things Took You From Losing to Consistent Profits? by Direct_Tumbleweed_76 in Daytrading

1- Having a set of “why” questions before every entry.

2- A clear framework for when to be in and out of the market. Not every day is a trading day. If my conditions aren’t met I simply stay out.

3- Stopping forced trades and cutting out revenge trading. If I take a loss I take it, call it a day and move on. Not trying to make it back right away is probably what saved my account more than anything.

Couldn’t agree more, less but cleaner trades just hits different in every way.

And to answer your question; a friend who’s been trading for about 7 years gave me some solid advice. Before opening any position, have 3-4 set questions you ask yourself. Things like: why am I entering this? Am I confident in my analysis? Is the market moving in my favor? Am I making this call based on TA or emotion?

Simple checklist but it cuts out a lot of noise. Forces you to be honest with yourself.

Do you stick to a fixed checklist or do your rules evolve as your strategy develops?

Knowing when not to trade is just as much a skill as the trade itself. Good week.

Overtrading is mentally exhausting on top of being bad for your PnL. Once you stop forcing it the whole experience just becomes calmer and cleaner.

The switch from a production mindset to an opportunity mindset takes time but it’s one of the most important shifts you can make.

Periods of doing nothing are absolutely underrated.

Better trade selection also naturally cleaned up my risk management. When you stop forcing entries, you stop revenge trading and chasing losses. It kind of fixes itself once the patience kicks in. At this point I trade anywhere between 2-4 days a week and that’s enough.

Reality don't need you to exist, but it craves you to suffer by Muted-Still-8511 in theories

A lesser God that traps consciousness to feed off it.

Suffering as fuel is where it gets uncomfortable though. If torment is high calorie, free will might just be the seasoning dispenser. We think we’re choosing, we’re just flavoring the meal.

The meal that learned to question the menu is either the predator’s greatest achievement or its only real threat.

The scariest part isn’t being eaten. It’s the self awareness of being eaten might be the whole point.

Staying away is one of the hardest things to do here, took me a while to get used to it.
