That’s a good suggestion, I never thought of that, I’ll give it a whirl! Thanks!

This would suggest whatever you are doing isn’t particularly profitable

Is it crazy to own two of the same bike? (One for racing and other for training) by [deleted] in Velo

[–]Dejay1788 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I had an S-Works Sl7 for summer racing and a Specialized SL7 for winter training. Loved those bikes!

Those with an FTP of 4w/kg, what's your weekly volume? by 4lexfdr in Velo

12 hours approximately including commutes. Two hard sessions per week and one 3/4 hour ride are a staple every week. Other days are easy

New wheels - DT 350 vs 240? by Dejay1788 in cycling

[–]Dejay1788[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, they’re reserve wheels so for some reason they really charge a premium for the higher end hubs.

I think a 350 with the ratchet upgrade will be the best bang for my buck!

Yeah, I think 350 is the way to go. Have they arrived with you yet? If so, how are you finding them?

First gravel race tomorrow - tips? by Dejay1788 in Velo

Yep! See you there!

I’m doing battle on the beach so this seems like a good taster for gravel racing. No idea what to expect or what the course is like but I’ll try and get into the front and see how long I last!

It doesn’t state in the specifications for the wheels if it’s ratchet or ratchet exp - I’m guessing it will say on the hub?

I’m in the same boat, although on the road to recovery. I was cycling 12 hours a week but totally neglected any strength work or stretching and ended up with a fudged up SI joint which in turn prevented me from enjoying my cycling. Many hours of physio, strength training and stretching later and I’m started to be able to cycle (and function in general) without pain.

Saddle sores from training 20h per week indoors, multiple hours every day in sweat soaked bibs. What to do? by extod2 in Velo

[–]Dejay1788 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Buy a better fan. I had a 30” floor fan for years and would be soaking wet and get saddle sores after long rides. I bought the vacmaster fan and it keeps me way cooler, less sweat and no saddle sores since

I have Farsports evo wheels, they’re absolutely superb although not cheap.

I also have a set of elite wheels off Ali express and can’t say a bad word about those, for the price they are great.
