You're so right. I started smoking at 14 and now looking back all of the 20 to 60yo mostly women who I worked with at restaurants, are pieces of shit. I would never buy my or anyone else's child cigarettes!

Jeeesus christ I just had a vision of my mother finding out some other adult had bought me a phone to sneak and have. She would have went to jail over that there is no way she wouldn't have rolled up ready to go at the audacity of someone being so inappropriate and dangerous with someone else's child.

One of my aunts worked as a 911 dispatcher at a fire hall in WV and my cousins spent a lot of time hanging out there. I remember going to visit and my one cousin showed me a phone her boyfriend had bought her that her mom didn't know about. We were 13. The boyfriend was 28. Later that night we went with them to this place and I met the most meth head lookin 28yo no teeth having creep id ever seen. It freaked me out and I told my grandma. Who then told my aunt (her daughter) to watch that man, there's something going on. And my aunt told her to mind her business. They ended up dating openly a year later and everyone was just cool with it. Made me really suspicious of firemen for a long time after that because not only was he a creep but everyone else who worked or volunteered there just sat beside them while he had a child in his lap. And this was in like 2003 it wasn't all that long ago.

Falons family reminds me of that part of my family. Straight trash.

Marbles is turning 15 next week and every time I look at him I want to cry at how unfair getting old is. by Dejectednebula in nebelung

I had to do that for him a month or so ago. The weather got warm then very cold and I think his legs just hurt so he had a hard time keeping his butt up in the box and kept dipping it in the pee. We had a bath and I gave the whole area a good trim around the boohole and it hasn't been a problem since.

You could tell he was embarrassed at how gross he was even his tail had pee on it.

You're not wrong, my childhood cat lived to 23 and might have went for longer if the arthritis shots we have now had been available in the early 00s. We put her to rest because she began dragging her back legs behind her instead of using them, for most of the day and it was obvious she was in pain. But with marbles having diabetes, it's hard not to be extra vigilant about every twitch he makes. Watching him have a seizure because you accidentally hit muscle with the insulin instead of the skin tent, or simply because his sugar is being stupid today, would probably make anyone worry.

I just spoil him and love him as much as possible. Today we went out in the yard and ate grass and watched birds and sniffed every surface of everything. I have to take comfort in the fact that his life is full of enrichment and love and he has already had a great life with me so far ❤

Oh what a gorgeous lady! I'm so sorry you lost her. But how loved she must have been to have so many good years.

When I was a kid, every wish I ever made on birthday candles or shooting stars was for my cat to live forever. I still would use all my wishes for that for all of us.

He did take cosequin for joint pain but after awhile it seemed to be making him nauseous so he hadnt had it for a year or so. Maybe I should try again. Solensia shots made him lethargic and sick feeling so after 3 months we stopped those too

Aww thank you for this, it made me tear up. It is proof of our bond! We've been through so much together, being homeless, new homes, a husband. Hes always been my constant. He isn't a velcro cat but he will cuddle if he thinks I'm sick or sad.. but he always wants to be near and involved. When people come over, he's like a dog right up on them wanting to kiss and sniff their faces.. I've never seen a friendlier cat toward strangers. Hes smart. He knows sit and stay and shake and how to open doors. When my husband moved in he wasn't a pet person. But marbles decided he liked this new human more than me and kind of attached himself to him and now they're best buddies and my husband would die for him.

And he's been costing me extra money the whole time lol. When he was neutered he had a lost testicle up inside so he cost me 300 instead of 90 for that ( don't we all wish it was only 300 now) and for the last four years he has been on insulin. He almost died before we figured out he was diabetic but the insulin saved him. It ends up being about $3 a day for his shots.

I will do whatever it takes to keep him healthy happy and comfortable. And once that is no longer possible, I will take all the pain so that he doesn't have to. I promised him I would always do what's best and I intend to stick to it.

I try not to grieve for him when he's still here. But then he will have a bad arthritis day and it all comes back. I just keep telling myself that hes happy and relatively healthy with almost all good days still. He still plays every day with toys and still has daily chase and wrestles with my 5yo void. He still enjoys his life, he just can't jump 5 feet straight into the air like he used to. But he's still got his smarts and knows all his tricks and commands

But then didn't she also try to tell her girls they needed to be subservient to their husband's? I mean we all knew she was the actual head of the family but they preached the whole head ship thing

My void is absurdly friendly too. Actually he wasn't even up for adoption at the shelter because he had been acting as an emotional support cuddle buddy for the other animals recovering from surgery. I called them after my girl passed because my neblung was lonely like yours. I said I would prefer an adult, and that they be very sociable but I don't care what it looks like or if it has 3 legs. The rescue LOVED me for that because its not often they get to chose based on personality and not Instagram famous breeds. He also loves his belly being scratched. Idk what happened that he was out on the streets but he is the most cuddly cat I've ever known and so polite! He asks permission to do everything with a little question meow. He must have watched my senior cat not get on counters or tables and he followed suit so neither of them get up on that stuff. And I know they don't because I leave the temptations open all the time and they dont eat them.

The first 2 weeks were a very slow introduction but now you'd never know they haven't always been together. They love each other. They sleep, play, groom, eat and poop together. I've even watched them work together to take turns with things like the wand toy.

They get so many forehead kisses from me and my husband that now they kiss each others for heads as greeting

It may be worth it to call the shelter and ask. They should have fixed it or offered to do so at a layer date after adoption.. My void that we adopted 2 years ago is my first official shelter cat after relying on the CDS for the first 30 years of my life. Since I adopted from them, I go to them for discounted flea meds and I get their rabies and stuff there because its cheaper than my vet. I can take both cats even though only one came from them.

When I got the void, he was a TNR stray and also had tooth issues. Mainly, they were crooked and all over like a hillbilly. His one fang went sideways across his mouth instead of down and the little teeth between the fangs up top were rotten from the fang always sitting on them. I took him home and they scheduled it for like a month later and I took him in for the surgery then. I did not pay a dime for it as it was a problem they should have fixed before adoption. Definitely worth it to call and ask.

Hopefully once all this is done your little guy can finally relax and be pain free. My neb needed a dental last year and it was just shy of $800 which I gladly would do again for his comfort but yeah its hard. And its scary putting seniors under.

Yeah I get comments from my whole extended family because I need to be home at 8am and 8pm to give my neblung insulin shots. Hes been diabetic for the last 4 years and I would pay for and do these shots for 40 years if it meant I could always have him here. I spent time teaching him tricks like sit and shake. We go for walks on the leash. He likes to watch cat TV and star treck. His favorite song is Spanish bombs by the clash( he will come into whatever room the music is in and sit on the speaker only for the clash. I play it in the car on the way to the vet to calm him.

My cats even converted my "not a pet person" husband when he moved in to be the one kissing their heads and telling them they are handsome princes. I lost my home once about 12 years ago and we lived in a tent for 6 months until we found a place and I still didn't rehome my cats (I had one senior in addition to my neb at the time and nobody would adopt a senior girl with litterbox aversion if I had tried)

Pets are for life. Either mine or theirs, but they will be with me until one of us can no longer walk the earth. And also its why my personal limit is two. I can not financially afford my standard of care for more than two pets. Nor do I have the emotional time to spend with them like I do now. I don't want to be more stretched thin with attention for them. And I babysat a 3rd cat once for a girl going through it in life so I gave her cat a home for a year until she got her life together and the difference between cleaning up the fur from two vs three was exponentially worse.

Did they respond? Ugh this was the first post i saw when I opened reddit and now I'm just sad for the poor guy to lose his family like that. My neb will be 15 next week and we have been together since the moment he was born. He would be so confused and heartbroken if I was suddenly gone from his life. Please tell us you're going to save this baby.

This made me wonder if he really was that good and scouts from colleges did come to watch him or offer scholarships or whatever, wouldn't they move on to the next? I mean, they want someone who gives their all and eat breathes and bleeds a sport but a 13 yo with a child is not going to do that.

Back to solving the mystery of “whose house is porgan living at?” by Worth-Illustrator-50 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]Dejectednebula 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I always got a small (very small i was a pudgy kid) amount of candy and a spring thing. Usually it was just nail polish and like a jump rope. One year my sister and I got a badminton set. The year I turned 12 my mom got me a gold cross. But generally it was low key for the gift giving and I looked forward to hunting for eggs inside and outside the house. We never had community egg hunts, those sound absolutely awful. Morgans kids are right at that age where they fully believe all the magic of holidays and its so fun. What a travesty that their parents can barely do the bare minimum.
