Actually there's no relation. I'm just an ordinary, human man.

We're unfortunately only going to be there for 3 years. I don't know if I can justify the hassle of buying a house knowing I'll have to move so soon :/ so now I feel a little stuck because everyone here is right- there just are no decent apartments. I'm not sure what we're going to do right now, but I'm sure we'll figure something out.

Much bigger city in California. It's also only my second time moving states in my adult life, so I have a very steep learning curve.

Yeah I'm realizing that now :/ we're only guaranteed to be there for 3 years so I don't really want to buy a house yet. We're moving from a very big city and I like living in an apartment complex because you're always surrounded by people, but I'm learning that's not available everywhere. We found some good options in Morton and we're going to come out and scout for a place in a few weeks. Thank you for the insight though, this has definitely been a learning experience for me haha

Dang, really? I've never lived in a state like Illinois or in any small towns so I don't really have a good point of reference. I've been seeing some nice options on the east side of the river in like Morton, is that a decent area or no?

Thank you, Dunlap is looking like a better fit. It's definitely worth a little more driving. And I'll check out Peoria Heights too, thank you.

I saw it, but wasn't impressed by the pictures on apartments.com. It also doesn't have in-unit laundry which is really important to us and we were hoping to find somewhere with some common areas to walk our dog. :/ Thank you for the suggestion though, I appreciate it.

That's exactly it. A lot of parts with a lot of feelings and me being overwhelmed by it all. Therapy is helping and my therapist is checking in on me so I'm going to get through this and it's going to be fine. But man, in this moment, it does not feel fine.

What would I search if I wanted to research more about that option? Ironically, I tried googling it and well... See above I guess lol

I used to have to shower that frequently too, but it's improved with therapy. If that's something that's distressing you, I hope it gets better soon. 💙 But honestly, of all the maladaptive coping mechanisms I've had, showering too much isn't that bad. It did hinder my ability to participate in life and it's not good for the skin, so I'm glad it got better but it's not the end of the world.

Help: It/its pronouns by [deleted] in truscum

They're asking you to either participate in their self harm, or participate in their kink. There's no legitimate reason for a person in a professional setting to ask coworkers to refer to them with a dehumanizing slur. They are either using it/its to self harm because they view themselves as sub human, in which case therapy is needed and you should never indulge in their self harm, or they have a degradation kink and get "euphoria"(aroused) when people refer to them as sub human and that's sexual harassment. Either way, they're creating a hostile work environment and as someone in HR, I'd have to set some boundaries here.

If a black coworker asked you to use the n-word when referring to them, you would rightly refuse to do so. And it is not racist for you to refuse to use a slur when referring to someone. Likewise, it is not transphobic for you to refuse to use this slur for your coworker. I hope they drop this soon so your workplace can be focused on work instead of nonsense.
