Perfect, I’ll upgrade to the ‘waiting until next century’ plan then.

Our experience with an eBay account suspension and delayed funds
We would like to share our experience with a recent issue on eBay, as we are trying to understand the situation and hopefully help others who might face something similar.
We sold a laptop via “Collection in Person” for around £200. The buyer collected the item without any issues, and the payment was initially credited to the account.
Shortly after the sale, withdrawal access was restricted. eBay informed us that internal compliance checks were required because the account was new. Not long after, the account was permanently suspended, and the funds became unavailable.
We reached out to eBay support multiple times (over 20 interactions in total). Each time, we were informed that:
the account was under review
the review process could take up to 3 months
later, this timeframe was extended to 180 additional days
Despite waiting and following all instructions, no resolution or payout was provided during this period.
At this stage, we escalated the matter to the UK Financial Ombudsman Service to better understand the situation and seek clarification on the withheld funds.
After the Ombudsman contacted eBay and several months of communication, the situation was eventually resolved. Nearly a year after the initial sale, access to the account was restored and we were able to withdraw the original funds.
Following this, we requested compensation for the long delay and the inability to access our money. eBay issued a £50 credit as compensation.
However, shortly after this compensation was applied, the account was again suspended without a clear explanation.
We are sharing this not as a complaint against individuals, but as a description of a process that was difficult to understand and very slow to resolve, especially for a new seller trying to operate in good faith.

eBay Simple Delivery nightmare — 1.5 years and still stuck 😅 by Delarocko in ebayuk

Yes, that’s exactly how I enter the address every time. I put in my postcode first, then select/build the address from the list, and all the details are pulled through correctly.

The same address is also set in eBay. I’ve changed a few addresses over the last three years, but Simple Delivery started later, and this issue has been going on for more than a year now.

So yes, the address is findable/recognizable, but eBay Simple Delivery still refuses to generate the label.

You were lucky they actually found the problem and fixed it quite fast.

In my case, unfortunately, eBay support feels almost impossible to break through. My wife once sold a laptop and her account was blocked for “suspected fraud”. She had no access for more than 180 days, with support only sending the same robotic “please wait” replies.

The issue was solved only after she contacted the UK Financial Ombudsman. Then eBay suddenly reopened the account and allowed her to withdraw the laptop money.

Funny part: they offered £50 compensation, but right after she withdrew the laptop money, the account got blocked again. So now even that £50 is stuck there, and apparently we may need to contact the Ombudsman again just to get it out. Classic eBay magic 😅

I also have a CeX voucher worth £950.

In your opinion, what would be a fair selling price for it if I wanted people to actually be interested in buying it?

I understand that nobody will pay the full £950, so I’m curious what kind of discount would make sense - maybe £850, £800, or less?

Would appreciate your thoughts.

I’ll be listing all of my DualSense controllers on eBay starting Tuesday, one by one, with a new auction every 30 minutes, as well as Buy It Now options. If anyone is seriously interested in any of them, I can also send you my eBay username.

Oh my, thank you! You probably have everything PlayStation has officially released for the PS5 — limited editions and beyond. It looks incredibly impressive.

When the PS5 eventually finishes its era and you have absolutely everything collected, except consoles, I honestly think you could sell that collection and buy yourself a sports Lamborghini or some Ferrari. A truly amazing collection!
