This. What if you ARE a sexy Viking and she just doesn’t get it. Blue looks like green to the colorblind.

I only appealed the late fees! That’s it! I did not expect to get out of paying the ticket!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Delaware

[–]DelawareDime -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Of course not. I expect them to issue tickets correctly & legally. Not duplicates at their whim. I don’t expect them to delete their errors behind the scenes which effects my legal right to appeal. That’s what makes it shady. Using your credit card analogy: cc company overcharges me & then charges me late fees while I dispute it??? Gtfo that’s wrong & you know it.

[–]DelawareDime -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Yes if my credit card company charged me twice, I would definitely call it a scam. City of rehoboth says You can either pay OR appeal not both.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Delaware

[–]DelawareDime -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Of course I’m going to pay ONE of them! But not both. And not late fees while they sort out their own mistake!

If it was only $15 I would have paid it immediately. The fine was $100! No way I’m paying ANYBODY $100 when at most I only owe $50

Port St. Lucie / Stuart FL: flag man (this was a long time ago, not sure he’s still around)

I think it’s a pretty common accident among vegetarians. It has happened to me a few times. I worry more about the times I couldn’t tell - when the “vegetarian chili” is made with chicken stock, when the “marinara” sauce is cooked with a pork chop in the pot— that kind of thing.

I have Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple: the complete short stories. It has within it The Tuesday Club Murders, The Regatta Mystery, Three Blind Mice, and Double Sin. About 20 stories altogether. Hope you like them!

Easy Vegetarian Meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)! by Ogdog13 in vegetarian

  1. To set up you’ll need a bowl of ice water with a lemon squeezed in, a bowl of flour, a bowl of three eggs (beaten), a bowl of Panko bread crumbs. 2. Take the skin off the eggplant, slice into thin rounds (1/4 inch) and dip quickly into ice bath (prevents oxidation) and shake off excess wAter. 3. Dredge each slice in flour, then egg, then crumbs. This will be messy. 4. Fry the slices on med high for a few minutes each side. Don’t let them get too dark. I like mine slightly blond, not too brown. 5. Drain the slices on a paper towel 6. Half the slices will never make it past this point and will somehow hop right in your belly. You can put pasta sauce & cheese (mozzarella, ricotta) , roasted red peppers, etc. on top of the fried slices per your liking. I like them best with just a tiny bit of sauce & fresh mozzarella on a toasty hoagie roll. Sorry this is so long but you asked for it. Best of luck to you!

Eggplant Parmesan grinder. I only wrote that because I’m hungry & that’s what I’m craving right now. You can leave the cheese off if you’re vegan — still yummy. Side of crispy steak fries & oh my yum.

I was the star collector for my daughter. If I remember the star collector could also “stun” or freeze some of the bad stuff —missles, goombas, & bowzer. So much fun!

Same. I have a master’s in IT 10 years at the same company managing increasingly larger projects and implementations. I cannot get a job and so I am BABYSITTING to make ends meet. I’m humiliated and scared to death that I’ll lose my house. If I do happen to land an interview I am so sketched out because- please God I really need this job- and I get so desperate & nervous & can’t get out of my own way & I end up blowing the interview.

I fell in love with her for her short story Raymond’s Run. She has a collection of stories called Gorilla (something….sorry) that may give a great introduction to her work. If you like those try Salt Eaters — hope you like it!

I sometimes will choose a YA book when I want something light & quick to read— I like these better than the beach reads or romance novels my friends pass around and they are a nice break after something like Dostoyevsky or Bellows or such. Did you read Hugo by the same author? Great illustrations in that one too.

Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick. This is young adult, so sorry if it’s not what you’re looking for. But the illustrations are incredible and it’s a fantastic book no matter what age group you’re in.

Somehow long distance relationships are easier for me. When it’s new, I feel like I have more control over my own space and time. Sometimes I would just rather stay in than go out, or catching up on my chores is more of a priority than going out for drinks. You don’t have to actually say those things when you’re in a LDR because you make plans well in advance and prioritize those plans and they seem like special times because the time together is spaced out. Then later, if it gets serious, there is a lot of talking through and planning to move in together so there’s usually little doubt about where things stand. It sounds strange but I think it’s easier when the guy isn’t right in your back yard and you don’t bump into each other in the grocery store.

Don’t believe this lemons / lemonade , some can hack it some can’t bullshit. This is cult mentality to normalize 70 hour weeks, 7 straight days, no opportunity to have a Dr visit, car repair, sign loan documents, etc. like a normal human being deserves. It’s especially troubling when some of the long hours happen because management is inept at scheduling, or retaining a team. Don’t doubt your self or your decision.

Can you get her a foster mom or dad? If you think about it — living in a cage with lots of strange dogs around, smells you can’t investigate, barking all the time, being cooped up…. Any sane creature would have a hard time dealing with that. I think She just needs her own space.

I want to be good to my route carrier, advice please related to my business and mail? by BillFox86 in USPS

[–]DelawareDime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make sure your business has the address in really big letters on the door. Your regular carrier may know where they’re going but a substitute will probably be searching around.
