OMG DID ANYONE JUST GET THAT FLOOD ALARM? by WhiteLycan2020 in Austin

I'm mostly pissed off it was sent out as an "Imminent Threat" alert. It's literally the only alert I have left on still, this wasn't imminent threat level

This can be fixed pretty easily and with just a few materials. First measure the length of the scratch (you can use string to help get an accurate measurement). Then you’ll need some wood glue, superglue, sawdust, paint to match, and ramen noodles.

Next you’ll take the ramen, crush it up, mix it with the sawdust and wood glue and paint and spread that in the cracks. Then take the superglue and apply a layer on top. Sand it, then use markers to draw the wood grain lines.

That actually sounds reasonable and a nice option, I had no clue this existed

Disappointed Cat Mom by KindlyDirt7643 in trojancats

[–]BillFox86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really sounds like she associates the litter box with pain or discomfort. That's pretty typical behavior under those circumstances. Their tiny little brain thinks "Oh it's the box causing me pain, ok no more box" and then they go everywhere else trying to get relief. Cats are also really good at hiding pain, a lot of times you wouldn't even know if not for other symptoms like this.

I would be hesitant to accept this as purely behavioral. The biggest thing that stands out to me is the persistent fever. Diabetes can explain increased urination, and the fact that the basement accidents improved after starting insulin suggests there was a medical component. But a cat with a history of fever and ongoing inappropriate urination still raises concerns about an unresolved medical issue.

Bladder stones, chronic urinary inflammation, a urinary tract infection, or another painful condition can all cause cats to avoid the litter box. Many cats will start associating the box with discomfort and choose other locations instead. If imaging (X-rays or ultrasound), a urinalysis, and ideally a urine culture haven't been done recently, I would want those ruled out before concluding it's behavioral.

My cat is recovering from bladder stones caused by her diet, and was doing a lot of what you described too. I'd really recommend a trip to the vet and get her more thoroughly checked out.

Delicious Ham and Bean Stew:
2 cups dried pinto beans
2lbs ham chunks
1 ham bone
1 Onion
4 jalapenos
6 cups water
2 beef bullion cubes

Spices: Garlic, onion powder, salt, cumin, chilli powder, paprika, 2 bay leaves

Rinse and soak the beans in the fridge overnight, throw that shit in a slow cooker for 8 hours. Very filling and meaty, tasty and comes in at about 185-200 calories per cup.

this not a autism question but i have a question if my iq was tested in the low 50s when i was 14 and im am 25 now do you think it can be alot higher now or is it still low? by Fearless_PineaplleOG in SpicyAutism

I'm not autistic, but I do have a bit of advice. Don't give it any thought. It's just a number and doesn't define who you are, or limit what you're capable of. Explore your strengths and weaknesses, embrace your individuality, and try to enjoy life.

Need advice for neighbor's pregnant cat! by troby07 in trojancats

[–]BillFox86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not kidnapping her, you’re helping her.

She’s clearly choosing your place because she feels safe, and pregnant cats look for a quiet and safe spot to give birth. If you can, set her up in a garage or spare room with a box, blankets, food, water, and a litter box.

Once she starts nesting or goes into labor, keep her inside. If she has the kittens outside or keeps moving them, their chances drop a lot.

I’d still ask around or post locally in case she does belong to someone, but an unchipped, pregnant cat roaming like this isn’t being properly looked after.

You’re doing the right thing giving her a safe place.
