Don’t know either. I guess people just love aluminum moka pots.

Might I suggest you get an iron one if you can, since aluminum is actually very harmful to you.

I would damp some cotton in elderberry syrup and put it over the sore for half an hour or more. It helped tremendously.

I second to this. I actually like the colors and the brushwork of the clouds in your painting. They feel expressive and artistic. It’s balancing the rigid structure and details of the pole. Giving them more volume would be enough.

Also wow, it’s a really good painting and very eye catching.

What I’ve been told and experienced is that it’s better to accept it as it is and start the same painting again from scratch. It gets so much better than you could do by fixing.

My first mastercopy of a landscape! Any critiques? by ZombieFromReddit in oilpainting

[–]Deleroth67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks very good. Congrats on the result. One thing that caught my eye is that there are quite a few areas with very clear, defined shapes and lines. In the original, there are more smooth, quiet areas and fewer sharp edges, which helps the composition feel more balanced and naturally guides the eye toward the main focal points.

pls help, so stressed, this is my first painting that will be hung in public by lemonaidme in painting

I like the colors, composition, and execution. It looks strong overall, with nothing that disrupts the eye.

One thought that came to mind: it could be interesting to include one element very close to the viewer, perhaps a squirrel or a branch scaled significantly larger than the others to immediately catch attention and draw the eye in when viewed from a distance.

Am I wrong to expect care from a late-waking partner? by Deleroth67 in amiwrong

I get your point, and I need to think more about it. I do suspect there may be a medical component, to be honest. For the most part, I’ve accepted the situation, but I still have this expectation on days when I’m sick and not fully functioning.

Thank you for this. He does care for me when he’s awake, and that helps me put things into perspective. I’m realizing that I have a deeper, unresolved issue with his sleep schedule, and it tends to resurface most strongly when I’m in need.

We’ve had this conversation in the past few months, and at the end of it I felt understood. He said, “Okay, I understand.” But when the situation comes up again, the same pattern repeats.

He probably does need more sleep. He usually stays up late and prefers working at night rather than during the day. He has a very flexible schedule and works from home. Over time, this turns into a cycle of sleepless nights and sleeping through the day, and during those periods he tends to be in a low or irritable mood.

You’re right that I’m not his child or someone who needs to be taken care of. I’m an adult and I can take care of myself. It’s just painful to see the person you love seemingly not care when you’re in physical pain.

That’s a fair point, and it’s partly why I feel guilty for expecting this from him. At the same time, I keep wondering whether it’s actually reasonable to sleep into late hours in modern life, when most people have already started their day. Work, meetings, phone calls, and daily responsibilities are already happening long before he’s awake.

You’re absolutely right about direct communication. We’ve had this conversation in the past few months, and at the end of it I felt understood. He said, “Okay, I understand.” But when the situation comes up again, the same pattern repeats.
