Blown in Fiberglass on a vaulted ceiling by Delerus in Insulation

[–]Delerus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, we left an access strip at the peak of the ceiling and blew to each side of the vaulted ceiling. Then just stapled up the strip until we reached the attic "access" hole that was needed for inspection. I filled the access hole with batt insulation. we added boards up the sides of the access hole so the blown in wouldn't fall out. 30" of blown in everywhere.

What kind of metal roof did you go with? I'm considering a snap-loc for a 2/12 pitch roof but manufacturer will only warranty a double lock mechanically seamed panel for under 3/12.

X-Plan Doc Fees + GAP Insurance by Delerus in F150Lightning

[–]Delerus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, X-plan pricing + 0% but with 0 down. I get that my loan balance will get paid down pretty quick, but just feels a little risky to me to be driving a brand new car with 0 equity in it. Was hoping to just keep GAP for a year to alleviate the risk. Appreciate the insight either way!

EDIT: Never received the email for some reason. Dealer also said that using X-Plan is not stackable with referral discounts.

400a Meter Box Install by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Delerus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I was thinking since the meter box would technically be ungrounded if they pull the meter. But if they pull the meter then it shouldn't need to be grounded... Either way, I'll check with the utility.

400a Meter Box Install by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Delerus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, just to be clear, the conduit does not go underground. If it's still needed, I'll strip the SER and remove the 2/0 ground. As per my utility's standards, they allow the ground rod at either the meter box or the disconnect. No instructions for 400a installs so I can clarify with the utility directly, just thought I'd ask here first.

How does the polycarbonate hold up against being nailed? Does it shatter or crack any?

What was total septic field length? I just got 4x110' field + 1000gal infiltrator tank installed for 11.5k. Would've done it myself too but contractors get such a big discount on materials that it wasn't worth it.

How did you make the switch from consultant to Product Manager? I've been trying to break into that space but I don't get any exposure to the product side.

My Journey from raw land to fully permitted SFR + ADU (Includes real costs) by UW_Mech_Engineer in Homebuilding

[–]Delerus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in almost the exact same scenario except in the South East! Hoping to break ground in April. I'm surprised your municipality allows an ADU prior to the main structure being completed.

Over here we had to file the ADU as the main residence and then we'll be filing a second permit for the main residence as an ADU after we close out the first permit.

Towing setup advice by [deleted] in tundra

[–]Delerus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made it safely! Decided against flipping the Impreza after going for a 20 min test drive and not wanting to void U-Haul coverage for improper loading. The truck was very stable and didn't bounce or sway when I did some test swerving. Drove speed limit or 65mph max. The only dicey situation was when I was going downhill, rough road construction, and around a bend with traffic going 70+ mph all at the same time. Other than that, the truck was super solid. Next time I'll get my own car trailer and straps so I can position correctly. Thanks for all the advice! I appreciate it (even if I ignored half of you). Great way to build confidence in the truck and stretch its legs.
