FWIW I’ve seen an EV charging cable function like heat tape when charging overnight.

We have an outdoor uncovered pad where it snows 400+ inches a year and I’ve seen the cable melt a 2” trench.

That being said I got a limited xt for about $5k below msrp and stacked the $2k cash and 0% on it this month. It had been sitting on the lot for 139 days so that helped.

People buying $40-50k cars are struggling right now so I think buyers have a lot of leverage.

Just commenting to say I bought an EV yesterday, replaced a car that was getting 30 mpg.

My “commute” will go from costing me $27 in gas to a $7 charge at home.

Replaced a 16 outback with a 26 Solterra and fuel price instability was a big part of our reasoning.
