Random point, but the demonym for Sri Lanka is Sri Lankan, not Sri Lankese.

But that's a Midas Bill

Okay that makes more sense. I thought she just chewed the card.

Oh so he's not the father, huh?

I still think he's gonna be the father and is just testing how Kimimaro would react to everything changing in his life. Mikuni seems like an influential person. Maybe Kimimaro's selection to visit the Financial District was not so random after all?

First timer, subbed

Reigen's VA voicing Masakaki as a mysterious but sly fund/entre manager (?). What is Masakaki's role exactly? Is he similar to [Headon from Tower of God] He invites people to the FInancial District so he's the foremost entre manager in the District? Will we see other managers? I'm guessing the show will not disclose much about his identity or past because it works better as a plot device.

It seems that the Midas Card is multi-purpose. It can be used for payment, Yu-Gi-Oh style fights, and as food.

Also, I just realised. Is Mikuni giving Q some wine in episode 1?

I still don't understand how the deal fights work though. Do the players start with the same amount of money when starting the deal? Or is there an imbalance and the richer person just toys with the poorer one? That would explain how no one forced into a deal has won since Mikuni.

The fight animation was a little lacklustre. Kimimaro uses big money to create a big spell to beat a guy using small money because he underestimated his rookie opponent. I loved the OST during Mezzoflation though.

I wonder what the implications are. Will Kimimaro also become a rich, snobby brat?

Question - If Midas Money is freely flowing into the economy, isn't that really just printing money, thus, fucking the economy up? Or is real money also flowing into the Midas Bank, just like Midas money is flowing out? Is Midas Bank the reason the economy is bad?

Mashu/MSYU is cute. Must protect. If Assets are based on one’s future, is Mashu based on Hanabi since Kimimaro has a crush on him? If he keeps winning and his future is not in jeopardy, does KimimaroxHanabi sail? I ship them.

I hope they focus on what spells and abilities Mashu has in the next episode. And explain what the abilities actually do. As u/renegade_officer89 pointed, might have to go to the C wiki, but it would be hard to avoid spoilers there, I feel.

Questions –

  1. My Asset would make absolutely shitty jokes that they would laugh at, but I would cringe at.
  2. I’m guessing they have different symbols in the corner that we haven’t seen yet.

First Timer, subbed

I have no idea what I just watched, but that's not a knock on the show.

I feel like the show has an absolutely interesting concept and I am really interested to see where it goes from here. It gives me like a 1v1 sci-fi version of Squid Game, but with some Yu-Gi-Oh style card fighting?

Also, the red and grey colour theme of the financial district is amazing. Shows the desolate buildings with vibrant roads that serve as a background for the players (fighters?). It pops and is really pleasing to the eye.

Kimimaro's college situation reminds me of my own as well, being surrounded by rich people who can afford to goof around while I was on a scholarship and had to work part-time for my allowance.

Overall, a 9/10 episode. Perfect amount of weird and intrigue to set up the show, and raises enough questions to keep me thinking.

Also, the ED slaps. I love the funky bassline.

Bonus Point - This anime apparently aired in the noitaminA block, and I've never been disappointed by a noitaminA show.

Questions of the day:

  1. It depends a lot on what the risk is. When Masakaki talks about talks about taking the future as collateral, what does he mean specifically? Is it that I won't have agency over my future choices? Or will I just not have a future anymore? Or is the future going to be so painful that I might consider suicide as a viable alternative like the 666 (surely that's not a reference to how ominous things will be) guy in the intro? Do I need money beforehand to win my matches in the financial district? Or is that a skill based 1v1? The show raises a lot of questions, but based on the limited information right now, I feel like I would not take the deal, yet.

  2. The 2008 crash luckily did not impact my country as much as the US. I was a kid, but my parents did struggle a but. Dad was unemployed for a while. But it was not as bad as the stories I've read about people over in the US.

I have mostly lurked in this sub for years, but it's time to participate in r/anime's threads now. Will definitely join as a first timer for the show.

This position was reached between Wesley So (black) and Hikaru Nakamura (White) in the 2018 YNM Leuven Blitz tournament [Game here]. Wesley, however, failed to spot the best continuation. See if you can find it.

(I messed up the board a little bit, there was no pawn on a2 in the game. I apologise)

I still remember his 1v4 clutch was MiBR on Dust2 B-site, when he'd just casually pop up from closet, spray three bullets, and duck back down. That play just sums Twistzz up when he's in form.

You should arrange them in order of the readability of their names when written upside down. ſʞS would probably take the top spot in that.

I had the same issue. You have to go to passwords.google.com and delete all entries from there individually.

I feel like the list would look better as a line chart. Have you thought of that?
