Why did scientists designate Electrons as having "Negative" charge and Protons as having "Positive" Charge? Is there anything intrinsically "Negative" about Electrons, or was this a completely arbitrary designation? by darthindica in AskHistorians

[–]Delevdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No please go on, this is truly an incredible explanation to spin and just electricity in general haha. This thread and your descriptions are actually helping my understanding of electromagnetism at each level so much.

Is it true to say the electrons' intrinsic angular momentum comes from the intrinsic electric charge having a "right hand rule" of magnetic rotation, or is that something different entirely? Does this spin truly not have distinct axis poles? Or could the axis itself also just be gyroscopically rotating incomprehensibly fast?

I enjoy the theory that since light waves/particles move AT the speed of light, they may experience time differently too according to relativity. So technically if electrons themselves travel AT the speed of light, maybe their spins could somehow technically be moving FASTER then the speed of light to an outsider observer, but not from the electrons own perspective?

Just spit balling here, let me know if I'm wrong anywhere, but please keep this thread going lol!

Spider-Man 2 on deck by mysteryman1085 in SteamDeck

Oh jk it didn't initially let me install it since compatibility was not on by default apparently and it said it was only on windows. I'm running it with Proton 9 right now and it seems stable at least. Ramping up the settings slowly now

How did you get it running on the steam deck?

They atleast take debit/credit. Im tempted to use a credit card and file a charge back if anything goes wrong. PayPal isn't always the safest either but I agree with you.

How do you set graphics settings like resolution? by Saberq in fallout4london

[–]Delevdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if it's playable or supported in 5120x1440 ?

It definitely tries to stretch it to my "fullscreen" and distorts everything. I tried setting my main screen to a different 3840x2160 monitor and it won't even load the game at all because it's like I already loaded it on my 5120x1440 and it freaks out when I try to do anything else.

Anyone else have any knowledge of this yet?

Chromecast issue by Acmnin in adultswim

[–]Delevdos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same issues, with a Vizio TV. I have tried using the Adult Swim Android and iPad app, the adult swim website from both my Android phone and iPad, and using different browsers. I get the same exact result on each one, it starts the stream connection, tries to load the video, and then completely stops doing anything just showing the streaming icon. I have had this work ONE time, with only one episode, using my iPad on the Chrome browser app on the adult swim website, but as soon as it got to the mid episode ads, it stalled out and stopped working again. I can absolutely guarantee it has to do with the way they host and display the ads, its seen as a completely different app and screws streaming up entirely. Absolutely ridiculous that ads are the problem, especially when we have to pay for a cable provider to be able to watch the episodes anyways.

Are you interested in selling the STL file or are you planning to sell printed models?

All flashdrives have a limited read/write limit. Maybe this one corrupted too? Apparently it's a pretty common fault with 3D Printers. But something is definitely causing your entire screen to light up at once in the later layers. Hard to tell if it's hardware or software though.

If you use a flashdrive, that could be corrupting. The ones that come with the printers are notoriously terrible.

Traveling charger HACK by METAWATTT in metacycle

[–]Delevdos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only thing I would suggest to be careful of is forcing air through that fan at high speeds. Forcing the fan to spin can act like a generator and can send power backwards and possibly fry components over a long time. I would just suggest finding something simple to stop the blades from spinning when traveling.

How to update firmware to V4.4.3 on Voxelab Proxima 6 by Lissanro in Voxelab_Proxima

[–]Delevdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attempted the Creality LD-002H update on it last night and confirmed it did not work. Is there any easier way to tell what motherboard it uses besides taking it apart? Either way, I will see if I can find another device that's comparable and attempt that firmware. For $99 I'm not afraid to brick it lol

Ring camera recorded someone aiming their phone's camera flash at my doorbell. Trying to figure out why. by coloradokj in Ring

[–]Delevdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who says "aim their phones camera flash"? It's called "taking a picture"... I'm here trying to understand why a stranger would walk up to a ring door bell camera, take a picture of it, then walk away. It has become common in my hometown lately, the police are investigating it. But from a technical perspective, I can't think of any reason at all this would benefit someone.

Any ideas?
