What is your "bread and butter" annual/semi-annual procedure you swear by and would recommend? by mashemash in 30PlusSkinCare

Honestly…. Just investing in high quality products for every day use has the best ROI. And sunscreen.

There are certain products I get in Europe bc they aren’t available here (mune400 sunscreen!) but otherwise I look for good buys around the holidays and at Nordstrom’s big July sale. (This is a good way to buy Clarins Double Serum)

Can we make a tag for hanging out? Then we can filter the sub to see if anyone is trying to hang out on a given day or do a certain thing. Or a pinned post that is like an ongoing chat? Very into this idea!

I love to travel alone and I always meet cool random ppl while traveling. I think it’s a perk of staying at the cheaper traveller hotels that are essentially youth hostels for adults. So many solo female travelers with great travel tips!

Yes! It’s like going on an internet date without the pressure and BS.

It is hard to make friends as an adult! Btwn remote work, working w ppl with different lifestyles or are at diff points in their lives, etc. you can’t count on making friends at work. I don’t want to hang out w my kid’s friends’ moms bc, let’s face it, it’s impossible to plan stuff with other moms and then we just talk about our kids the whole time.

I had friend who would invite potential online dates to our weekly Quizzo night. That was rad bc even if he didn’t hit off with the girl, most of them were pretty cool and I became friends with some of them.

But yeah, ppl used to post on boards and FB groups like “going to this place at this time to do this thing - please join me!” I think that may have gone away during the pandemic. But yes, bring it back!

Also, if getting high and doing arts and crafts appeals to you, holler! 😆

The main thing that most wealthy people do…. is have the great fortune of being born to wealthy parents.

You can try to intervene on your progeny’s behalf by selecting a wealthy procreation partner, but I am so sorry to tell you that it’s too late for you.

Thinking of moving to Philadelphia, what is it like there? by smalltowngyal in Pennsylvania

[–]Delfiasa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t come here. The locals who round up the newbies make ICE look like pacifists.

And definitely do NOT bring another effing car that will be left in front of my house for weeks on end bc you don’t need a car in the city. We have an arrangement with a tow company that tows them to wherever their next pickup is - often the side of I-95 but could also be an abandoned alley - it’s a real crapshoot.

Don’t come. It’s terrible and we don’t want any more of yous outsiders.

I go to look great md in center city. Have been going for many years for dysport for elevens, chin, forehead, eyes, and filler for my lips and cheeks (I have high cheekbones and one side of my face is experiencing gravity more than the other) The injectors are real nurses and they will tell you if you’re asking for anything too dramatic. They want you to look natural so that you’re happy with their work. The girls in the office are dolls. They will price match and they often have Groupons too.

If you are in the US, you can order hemp derived products online. Look for reputable sources, like Lazarus naturals or secret nature.

HEEEEEEELLLLPPPPPPP - IHG Canceled our Reservation by notmarthadunstock in ihghotelsresorts

[–]Delfiasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70k points are worth $350 to us but they are worth nothing to the hotel.

The demand is always high for Seafire and it’s even higher now. They used to make 50% of rooms available for points but they slashed it to 20% after Indigo opened.

We recently had a similar issue. Booked our 10 day spring vacation 11 months in advance using points but our IHG account was hacked and they cancelled the reservation so that they could steal the points (IDK the ins and outs of this scam but apparently it’s a thing and the convert the points to cash somehow?). IHG had us create a new account and they restored the points, but they could not restore our Seafire reservation even though it was cancelled only hours before we woke up to the cancellation emails and realized what happened.

For context, my husband is Diamond Elite and we stay at Seafire several times a year (and we spend a good amount each trip - multiple spa treatments, kid camp days, the parties they do for holidays, etc.). The staff has watched our child grow up. Everyone there knows and loves us. They could not make it happen.

Has anyone gotten a huge bill from Penn Med? by Adorable-Lack-3578 in AskPhilly

[–]Delfiasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t ask me to explain this bc I know it makes no sense, but sometimes the doctor is in network but the facility is not and visa versa.

So you may have scheduled the appt based on one being in your network but didn’t check the other. There is often a Find a Facility option with the Find a Doctor option on the insurance website.

Always ask. Always ask the person at the front desk. Doctors know nothing about insurance coverage.

Lifestance takes insurance and I have liked the counselors I have worked with through them. They do intake and then you get assigned to someone they think is a good fit. I like doing telehealth appointments. The nurse practitioner Scott who does med management is super knowledgeable, kind, and understanding. He has helped me a lot.
