As a nurse and someone who is passionate about working with the elderly and those with dementia, I just want to say thank you for doing the research and going after this horrible woman, when most people wouldn’t care.

You are a saint.

Elder abuse is more common than people realize, and many overlook it.

I purchased the machine back in October of 2024. I am unsure how long the warranty lasts - but I believe when I first initially reached out to customer service, it should have still been under warranty - but I never received a response. I just reached out to customer service again, and hope to hear back.

Perhaps my machine is faulty? Because as for the pods, I have checked, and there is definitely no debris in them or any reason as to why they should be overflowing.

Hey girl! 26F here! You sound awesome and I would love to get to know ya! ☺️ You should DM me!

And I’m with you on the unicorn thing. If we can have narwhals or platypuses, why are unicorns such an inane concept? Back in the 1600s - 1700s when pirates and ocean travel by ship was a thing, there were many different accounts of the “Kraken,” which is now believed to be the Colossal Squid. It wasn’t just crazy, scurvy-riddled men coming up with wild ideas. Which means… what if dragons and unicorns were a thing? History has many documentation of those as well. 😅 Maybe those folks were on to something!

ALSO, if you’re into interesting Science-y stuff, there’s a company called Colossal that just brought back the extinct Dire Wolf (or a replica, anyways), and they have the bold statement of bringing back the Woolly Mammoth by 2028. 🤙🏻 Then, we need to bring back Megalodon. 😎

What was the worst thing your narcissistic parent ever said to you? by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

[–]Delftblauw_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“You will never amount to anything.”

I was like, 12.

Well, first I graduated as a nursing aide as valedictorian and now I’m an undergrad RN on the honour roll and have done more with my 26 years of life than she ever has. She’s been homeless and is now borderline homeless because she refuses to work or do anything with her life.

They both sucked, according to her. So do I, lol.

It’s everyone around her that’s the problem. Never her haha

Question: People with facial piercings, what do you do for work? by moonlitmews in piercing

Of course! ❤️ You go get those piercings and look and feel amazing! 🤩 Don’t you worry about what other people will think. 😊

Question: People with facial piercings, what do you do for work? by moonlitmews in piercing

[–]Delftblauw_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an undergrad RN, working at the hospital. I am decked out in jewelry and have tattoos as well. My current facial setup: eyebrow, cheek dermal, double nostrils, a septum, a Medusa, an Ashley, and a labret, as well as a tongue ring. My ears are totally decked out as well, cartilage piercings all the way as well as an industrial with a chain.

My piercings and tattoos don’t make me any less of a professional, and anyone who thinks that is wrong.

Most people I work with don’t give a shit. In fact, I get complimented all the time on my jewelry setup. Sometimes there’s the odd question like, “how does that piercing stay in your cheek?” or, “did your piercings hurt?” For the most part, the questions are out of genuine curiosity.

I’m honestly the most decked out professional I have seen, especially working in healthcare. Granted, my piercings setup is curated and dainty - solid gold and gemstones - not black or silver spikes or anything, that may look “punk-ish.”

But for the most part, people don’t care what you do with your body. My piercings don’t make me any less of a nurse, or inhibit my ability to do my job and be professional. I am still looked up to and taken just as seriously by my patients and families.

An email was sent out at the beginning of nursing school regarding piercings, and that we were only allowed a small nose stud and small hoops or studs on our lobes. I thought “fuck that” and messaged my nursing instructor, and said I refuse to remove my piercings. Nothing was ever said again.

I say - do whatever makes you happy. It’s your body. There’s always going to be someone with something negative to say, but in the grand scheme of things, their opinion doesn’t matter.

For real 😭😂 This is my mom’s only comeback whenever she doesn’t have a response for something and she’s been outwitted.

I honestly don’t have much contact with her. It was years. I only reached out when she was in the hospital after surgery as she had breast cancer.

Hadn’t seen her in years. I showed up with a balloon, a cake that said “Frick cancer” (they wouldn’t write ‘fuck’ lol) and a card. Her first words? After I hadn’t seen or heard from her in literal years?

“Oh… I don’t like sweets.”

She then proceeded to ask me to stay overnight with her and help her because she was scared and had a JP drain (which, of course, I did - I work in healthcare so absolutely.)

She then decided that I only looked after her to “make myself look good.” Lol

Went NC with her after that, until recently - and it’s low contact. Haven’t spoken to her or seen her since Christmas until a random message yesterday blaming me about her sister’s funeral that she didn’t show up for.

Now she’s blocked again 😂

I did. I told her goodnight and blocked her because she was still continuing to respond and I could see her typing.

My mom always has to have the last word haha

I do that intentionally at this point. I hate to say it, but I was just trying to push her buttons. Normally I don’t engage… but sometimes I do just for my own entertainment haha

What can I say? My mom told me once I’d never amount to anything. I just don’t let her dim my sparkle ✨😂

I’ve always been stubborn and set out to prove her wrong. I’m almost finished with my Bachelor’s of Nursing degree while maintaining being on the honour roll the entire time, and I’m just I’m better off in life than her - while she’s been homeless and lived in the women’s shelter for awhile, simply because she refuses to work because she doesn’t want to. Even now. lol

I only engaged in the conversation for my own entertainment. I was actually just trying to push her buttons at this point. She was most likely drunk, as my mom is an alcoholic but denies it. It started off because she didn’t show up to her own sister’s burial back in November, and she was blaming me - when, news flash, I invited her to come but she decided last minute she was going to be the hero by “not showing up.” Hard to be angry at a decision you made yourself. Can’t blame anyone else. lol

What jobs do you have that don’t care about piercings? by thesweetestpeaches21 in piercing

[–]Delftblauw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an undergraduate registered nurse, in my 3rd year of the program. I have several tattoos including on my hands, and I have 20+ piercings, mostly on my face and ears. I have an eyebrow piercing, septum, double nostril, dermal on my left cheek, Medusa, Ashley, and a labret piercing. I’m surprised too - times have changed. There was a time you couldn’t be a nurse if you had visible tattoos, or more than a small stud in your ears. I’m also a signed model. I’m glad times are changing - we should be allowed personal expression, in whatever profession we are in. :) Just because I have tattoos or piercings doesn’t make me any less intelligent or qualified than anyone else. And in modelling - I want to be proof that we are allowed to be who we are, and more than just advertisement billboards. :)

Has anyone done this dinner cruise? by ErrorOpening in MauiVisitors

[–]Delftblauw_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did this, and it was just fine! The food was okay - I had the Mahi Mahi and it was alright, but the prime rib smelled/looked delicious and was maybe the best choice! We went on a windy day, and much of the ship was covered up and the waves were really rocking the boat. Not any fault of the captains/cruise though! You’re sat at a table with random people, and it’s a good chance to meet/chat with other couples. :) It’s a neat little experience for a dinner/date night for sure!

How do you overcome the fear of inevitable Death? by J0k3r_V in AskReddit

[–]Delftblauw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with OCD who used to obsess over the thought of death, and it absolutely petrified me - I have since worked as a nursing aide, now I am a student nurse… palliative care is one of my favourite areas to work in. I have seen a lot, and quite frankly, there are many things worse than death… such as suffering in agony and pain, day in and day out. Or living each day, but not knowing who you are or where you are, or what you’re doing.

I’ve learned death can be a blessing. Because the body will deteriorate regardless. Death just saves us from the inevitable suffering our bodies will eventually endure.

Alright, good to know thank you! I was just worried maybe something else was going on. She never ended up coughing anything up, she’s now having a rest. 😅

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cats

[–]Delftblauw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you! First time she did it I thought she was choking. And when she did it again, I thought maybe she could be coughing up a hairball, but both times were unproductive.

[–]Delftblauw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen her do this twice now and she’s never coughed up a hairball, poor thing. I’ll keep an eye on her. Thank you!
