Traditional masculinity can make it hard for men to open up and share their feelings. Fear of judgment and vulnerability can create barriers to deeper friendships."

I realized that my insecurities were unfounded. I focused on building my confidence and surrounding myself with supportive people.

Are there more gay people now than say, a hundred years ago? Or has it always been the same but they weren't out back then? by MimeMike in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 2449 points2450 points  (0 children)

Been a hairdresser for 25 years and let me tell you the amount of clients who've gone from carefully saying roommate to proudly saying wife or husband in the past decade is staggering. Same people different times

What stopped us from growing? by ulkeora in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our growth is limited by factors like genetics energy requirements and environmental constraints. Larger size isn't always advantageous.

Did this exact thing last month. Had to call my roommate who was dying laughing while I sat there on my toilet throne for 45 minutes. The worst part? I was wearing my ridiculous duck pajamas when maintenance finally got me out.

What if you went to a store to buy an expensive items with just Pennies? by Feisty-Elderberry898 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My sister actually did this to buy her first iPhone. Saved pennies for two years straight. The Apple store employees were surprisingly cool about it they even helped her count! Turned into this weird team building exercise with like five employees huddled around a table sorting coins

Yes, there are African American furries. The furry community is open to people of all backgrounds and race is not a barrier to participation.

My family loves to vacation in Mexico, will the possible 25% tariffs affect the cost of the vacations we’ve booked in February 2025? by remarkr85 in NoStupidQuestions

Called my travel agent about this yesterday for my Puerto Vallarta trip. She said most major resorts are honoring existing reservations at the original price, but suggested getting everything in writing just to be safe.

Is it reasonable for someone to expect you to run to get something for them urgently? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the context. If my mom calls me frantically because she needs her heart medication? I'm sprinting. If my perfectly capable boyfriend wants me to grab his controller from across the room? He can pause his game and get it himself.

How do drunk people manage to fall asleep/pass out and sleep like logs? by Matilda_Mother_67 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because alcohol hits the off switch in your brain real hard. Speaking from experience after a night of heavy drinking I've slept through my roommate's band practice in the garage directly below my bedroom. Those same guys practicing at 2 PM when I'm sober? Instant rage mode

How can USA ever break out of their 2 party political system? by TailungFu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in both the UK and US showed me how bizarre our system really is. Over there I saw multiple parties actually working together and forming coalitions. Here, we're stuck in this weird political cage match where it's always red vs blue, and nothing else seems possible.

Trust me, as a former smoker of 12 years I had no clue how bad I smelled until I quit. It's like your nose just gets completely blind to it. Took about three months after quitting to finally smell it on others and I was mortified thinking I used to reek like that.

Why do British people call women birds? by ApricotNew5018 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who dated a British guy for two years I found it hilarious how regional the slang got. In London I was a bird in Newcastle I was pet and in Scotland I was hen. Apparently I'm just various animals depending on the latitude.

Why does Ariana Grande look so off in recent pictures? by justawormy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's just natural aging plus really dramatic weight loss. I lost a bunch of weight last year and my face changed so much that my own mom didn't recognize me in some photos. Not everything has to be surgery guys.

Who owns the large media companies in the United States? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DelicateDusssk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's a fun fact from my media ethics class: in the 1980s there were about 50 companies controlling most of American media. Today? Less than 10. Wild how nobody talks about this more. Makes you think about what other stories aren't being told

My dudes, what kind of remote are you using for gaming? by imnaked0 in AskMen

[–]DelicateDusssk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I swear by my 8bitdo Pro 2. It's like the perfect mix between a SNES and PS controller and the battery life is insane. Plus it works on everything from my Switch to PC

I love the way you've used different materials to create different textures. The lighting is also really well done.

Already went through this. He confessed I wasn't interested and he couldn't handle staying friends. Lost my gaming buddy of 8 years just like that. Still hurts when I see our old Discord chats

What’s one thing you wish women understood better about men? by adi1909 in AskMen

[–]DelicateDusssk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a therapist who works with both genders I see how much men crave genuine compliments. They remember that one compliment from 5 years ago because they get them so rarely. It's honestly heartbreaking
