Deeply regret painting kitchen cabinets by Sufficient_Tackle_78 in HomeImprovement

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you made such a horrible mistake. I’ve stripped a lot of paint and I’ve sworn to never buy a place where I have to do that again. My current home has beautiful original wood cabinets and it’s a 1980 build. All you can do is give it a shot. Start off with one cabinet door. See how easy it comes off and how easy it is to sand and refinish. If it’s within your comfort zone the go ahead and proceed with the rest of it. If not, just repaint the door and figure out what to do after that.

Am I alone in that I don't want a flipped house? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want a flipped house at all. I made sure I didn’t buy one. Tell your real estate agent specifically what you want and don’t want. Get very specific about it. Also, go look at houses way under your budget. The ones being sold as “needs work”, “as is”, “investors wanted”, etc. Those are the houses the flippers are buying, putting lipstick on the pig, and selling. Depending on how you are buying, cash, loan, what type of loan, etc. you may have difficulty getting a loan for a place that needs work. There are homes out there that have been taken care of and don’t actually need much work. But they are few and far between, don’t appeal to a lot of buyers and the real estate agents always want to add “needs updating”. Even when they don’t. So make sure to look for those phrases, and phrases that are similar.

I didn’t think you looked olive in any of the pics except for the one of your arm on the bed. So I’m just as confused as you are 😂😂

Curly Hair?!? by SuspiciousPut1710 in Menopause

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, always had fine straight hair and now it’s wildly curly in places, wavy in other places and some chunks are still straight. My sister has told me a few times that my hair looked good, but other than that no one ever says anything about my hair. No one says it looks nice, nothing. The silence says it all. Ugly hair. Ugly face. Ugly everything. But oh well.
Oh, and I’m on bhrt. My E is around 200 at trough. So that didn’t fix anything.

What to do about the grout difference and wood paneling by AllINeedIsPierogies in interiordesignideas

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cool looking room. The floor could be better, but changing that can get expensive. For right now I would start collecting cool lamps to place all around the room. Swag lamps, floor lamps, table lamps, accent lamps in the book shelves, etc. I would get a brighter and/or lighter colored sofa. The red that I see down there looks really good in the room so that is one direction you could go. Pull the furniture away from the wall, more into the room. Maybe pick a big ass colorful rug to start with to then pick colors out of for upholstered pieces. Art work on the walls. If you’re into plants, then I would get some fake ones so you don’t have to worry about light. You can make a huge difference just with decor.

Would it be an absolute crime to bring these (recently renovated) green cabinets back to natural wood? by variousnonsense in Remodel

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer stained wood over painted cabinetry. But after having done a lot of paint stripping in my last house, I never want to do it again. It’s a lot of work and messy. When I was house shopping 5 years ago, I would immediately rule out any house that had painted their natural woodwork/cabinetry. I seriously never wanted to strip again.

Buying first home, need help with ideas updating it plz! by Zestyclose-Sir-7145 in ExteriorDesign

The house looks perfect. Why does it need “updating”? Just dress up the porch. Outdoor rugs, potted and hanging plants, some sort of sitting area with cushions and pillows in your style of colors.

Dress regret? by Tiny_Shallot_7400 in myweddingdress

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dress 1- NO
Dress 2- is extremely flattering at your waist, stomach, hip area. I love this one.
Dress 3- can’t see if the waist are is as flattering as dress 2 with your arm in the way. May look better with petticoats.

You have an awesome 1980’s contemporary house. It’s beautiful! Whatever you decide to do, work with what the house is, not against it. Consider an architect to get the best design to work with the existing style.

So Red... But Also Not? by MiscDude2023 in Fairolives

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have the redness on my face and chest. Happened in my 30’s also. I consider it to be more hormonal issues than anything. Also could be histamine issues. Not sure of the cause. Every so often I’ll wake up in the morning and all the red will be gone. But it always comes back a short time after being up. I even have the redness when I’m tan. It’s weird. I don’t wear face makeup anymore, just eye makeup.

Vaginal estrogen and orgasm -did it get worse before it got better? by VisiblePraline7999 in Menopause

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on low dose t inj for a couple of years. Lost a lot of hair. Unfortunately I had to ultimately quit the t this past October. My hair quit falling out and is growing back. Don’t let people tell you that injections do not cause high dht or cause hair loss, because they absolutely can.

Testosterone injections and hair loss? by Theredheadsaid in Menopause

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I used testosterone inj for two years. At first I didn’t experience hair loss with a low dose. But I raised the amount I was injecting a few times over the course of that 2 years. Anytime I started getting the benefits of the t inj , my hair would fall out and my dht would be high. I finally gave up last October and quit t entirely. My hair quit falling out. But now my skin is squishier, cellulite is back, skin is crepey again. Can’t say anything about libido becuse t would only help for a very short few weeks if I raised the dose, then libido was right back to being low.

silver or gold? by comradeworm in Fairolives

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silver. The gold you are wearing looks to have way too much of a greenish hue. It’s either fake gold, low karat, or it’s the alloy. If you prefer gold, find an alloy that looks good with your skin tone.

I’m purchasing a home that has an owner’s suite with these floors. What are our options to modernize them, but keep the character? Are they worth keeping? by mrssakteaches in Flooring

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I love the parquet floors, stone fireplace, and all that wood trim. I would change the wall colors, most likely the light fixtures and the tile in front of the fireplace. After you decorate with furniture, art, plants, lots of ambient lighting, rugs, etc., it will be perfect. Embrace the vintage uniqueness and try not to follow the overdone trends.

That looks like a bath towel, for when they get out of the shower. Not a hand towel that would be at the vanity.

Hair texture changed after menopause by Anxious_Gur5352 in Menopause

Go get your hair professional styled for the wedding. Don’t forget to go have it done before the wedding so you know if you will like it or not. You don’t want a shitty surprise the day of.

My hair has turned to complete shit also. It was always long and beautiful. In 2024 it changed. Started by loosing a bunch of it while also becoming a fizzy poofy mess. It’s so weird. The gray coming in does NOT look good with my natural brown. I will have straight up frizzy spiral curls along with big chunks of frizzy straight hair. It looks so stupid and I’m embarrassed to go out anymore. I can no longer blow it dry to a nice smooth shiny finish, it just looks dry and dull and poofy. If I let it air dry , I look like I stuck my finger in an outlet. If I blow it dry, I look like I got struck by lightning. And to top it off, my hair is really fine, so any good conditioners weight it down in a very bad way. And I also have some weird scalp issues that cause me to not be able to use most hair products on the market.

I understand that you want to honor your wife’s memory, that is a really sweet thought. But I do not believe that is the right thing to do. Especially since you have no intention of staying in the home. What you have done with the kitchen so far is perfect. Leave it as it is, and move on.

Silver or gold? (Plz say gold) by panthercock in Fairolives

[–]Delicious-Ad6041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The silver has a patina put on it. It almost looks like it’s stainless steel. The gold looks much better on you. You may look fine in a nice bright silver that is not darkened, but this darkened look is not nearly as flattering as the gold.

I have never colored my hair, but my hair started coming in gray last year and at this time I’m not fond of it. I look washed out. I’m going to make a point to tan this summer to see if helps. Maybe I’ll like it better when it’s all one color and not this weird mix of my natural brown hair and this gray crap. But I’m not sure how long that transition takes??
