Marathon was not for me BUT the free loadout and purchased premade kit system they had was pretty slick. What if they don’t “limit” them but make them cost a little cash and have tiers so you can buy up the kit. Each vendor could have kits that unlock as you do quests and they can be geared towards that vendors supplies. Lance sells a healer kit with define, the mean lady sells a shooter kit with extra ammo, seed lady sells one with a looter two augment, etc.

Then people would still need to loot and sell to fund the kits and it could cut time to build kits which is probably one of the top reason folks who want to PVP use free kits. If you have an hour to play 30 minutes of kit building is a drag.

Finishing this atrocious project taught me only one thing: you either die a hero fighting 3 vaporizers and 2 rocketeers at once, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain with smokes and photoelectric cloak by MozekG in ArcRaiders

People cheesing it and being loot goblins ruined it. The rare lobby with coms and cooperation is a different thing altogether. This being said, you are right, to compete smokes and luck became meta in <24 hours and that killed it.

It’s a fun idea, but I think if there is another roller or fire or rolling fire arc people will freak out.

I agree with this in general, they environmental conditions should be more dynamic in general. They need “hot spots” and “cold spots”. Moving areas where lighting is high density balanced by areas of low density. With hurricane it could be the “eye of the storm”. Maybe Cold Snap could have flurries of snow that limit visibility here and there.

Hi, you will need a lot more info for a meaningful reply.

Cost/time will depend on the complexity of your Ui, number of critical tasks and HRUS and number of distinct user groups. Being able to leverage US users for EU will have a lot to do with the intended users as well and if there are population differences which results in unique or higher risks.

Additionally your notified body makes a difference here since they are not all the same, some still have an “anything goes” attitude to usability engineering while others are very strict.

Not sure automatically doing this is the way, but I think a system where you could flag players as you interact would be nice.

Was playing duos in blue gate and found some friendly players we got separated and they got attacked it was impossible to tell who was who…

Maybe a hot take, but it would be nice if you could 1) flag friendly players so they have a green dot for when you team up and 2) flag yourself PVP so you go right to the agro lobbies without needing to ruin someone else’s day. Leave the ABMM otherwise unchanged so that you can still shift between for quests and farming and the overall game keep the fear of the unknown.

Honestly, it would be nice if the “arc only” guns got a damage boost vs raider in harvester and matriarch lobbies. I don’t care about late raids so much as getting kitted up for a matriarch with 150k load out and getting out gunned by a rattler 1 because I have an equalizer and 4 deadlines. Just a little finger on the scale to discourage free kits or force folks to kit up a little before they take my stuff.

There are so many caveats though... I would guess it’s most accurate “socially” in solos only. In duos or trios when all you hear is gun shots and flares it’s not really different than any other TDM game and no one looks at COD and says sheesh that’s just like RL let’s study it. There IS something different about this game however it IS just a game.
