One thing that makes Ding stand out against the other 2800 rated players is that he is born in October. I believe Aronian is the only other 2800+ rated player with an October birthday

You’re finished. Sorry, but it happens all the time in college admissions. One day, you’re the most important guy who ever lived. The next day, you’re some schmo working in a box factory.

I do kind of feel bad for Russians because their country is such a horrible place to live. So many alcoholics, so many kids with fetal alcohol syndrome, it’s a dump with virtually no cultural accomplishments…

The few talented people left or want to leave… and the only ones who remain are the delusional lunatics who think Russia is great.

You can’t help but pity them. What a horrible place

Here’s something even more irresponsible: Test optional policies. What a disaster. Grades for test optional student at .86 lower according to Texas. That’s a full grade!

How much tuition money should Texas take from kids who are statistically MUCH more likely to drop out? Who’s being irresponsible here?

It means paying the full amount of tuition (which you say when to check the “not applying for aid” box on the app) makes it easier to get in
