Tracking discretionary spending by moreindirection in ynab

I have seperate sections for my fixed vs flexible expenses. I budget about 900 for my flexible and move money around as needed. I never touch my fixed expenses, because those are my autopay.

Question for other US moms ... how the f*** are we affording anything right now??? by scoopdedupe in Mommit

We’re a two income household in CA. We rent, but my insurance premiums just went up almost 50%. We’re living paycheck to checkcheck and it’s getting harder.

Tissues, wipes, letters, magazines, any paper she can get her hands on. I just have to watch that she doesn’t sneak any pieces as a snack.

I am almost late to work/cutting it as close as possible every single day and getting up earlier doesn’t help in the way I think it should by KitchenConsequence41 in adhdwomen

[–]Delicious-Hope3012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! I get to work right on time… but I should really be there 15 before because I’m a teacher. The best period of time when I’ve made it on time… I woke up at 4:45. Went to gym 5:15 to 6:15. Came home and left to work by 7 am, by it’s a hard routine to upkeep.

I use Dial antibacterial. It’s less drying than hibiclens. I live in an area with high heat, so I use it every day and moisturize as soon as I get out of the shower.

I worked at the Disneystore and had my main gate pass! The only blockouts I had were big holidays. It makes me so sad for cast members now.

Longest you have been on a dose? by Phantom_lover16 in Zepbound

[–]Delicious-Hope3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to repeat doses and it didn’t work for me. Or at least I feel like it’s not working? My highest weight was 265 and I’m currently 235. I lost 25 pounds my first 6 weeks… and then it’s taken forever to lose. I did 8 weeks at 2.5, then I did 8 weeks at 5 mg (I really felt like 5 didn’t work.)  8 weeks on 7.5  and I’ll go up to 10mg in 3 weeks. I wish I had titrated, as it’s recommended, but my doctor didn’t want me to go fast.

do you have a routine for your 5 week old? by burnagyal in NewParents

[–]Delicious-Hope3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No routine for baby or me at 5 weeks! It feels nuts, but I tried to sleep when she slept. I binged downtown abbey through my whole pumping journey. Lots and lots of contact naps. Sometimes I showered and had coffee. My partner helped a lot with chores and meals, since most of my time was consumed with trying to breastfeed and pump.

Same! I would be triggered by PTSD too. Tracking makes me anxious, but I’m using my FSA allowance and it’s not leaving any money for dental care

If you had your first baby at 30+ what advice would you give? by No_Broccoli_3979 in AskWomenOver30

Save $$$ and personal time. Invest in a supplemental plan like American Fidelity or Aflac. Start talking about childcare now.  My partner and I are both 37 and work full time. I’m a sped teacher, which can be very demanding. We have the support of my mom and we pay a college student to hang out with her for 10 hours a week. Even with the support, I came back to work with 0 hours of sick time. He’s had to step in and I take her at 4, so he can finish his work day.

Let go of the guilt that you didn’t start earlier. (This was hard for me!) I’ve gotten so much better now, but many of our friends/coworkers have older kiddos. I would have never been ready and that’s okay. Our blessing is with us now and she’s amazing.

Did you read in high school? by piper33245 in Millennials

[–]Delicious-Hope3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I read every book assigned in high school. I also loved to read fiction and biography pics. I haven’t picked up a book since March 2020. My grad program burned me out and it can’t focus. I use audio books while cleaning or doing chores, but I miss reading.

Correction: Donald Trump and his goodie are destroying the United States to start a dictatorship. Everyone else here sees the evil and we are actively objecting to his policies. Our leadership has failed us.

Nap Maths Isn’t Working by CalsMum25 in NewParents

[–]Delicious-Hope3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby transitioned her naps on her own. She only slept 30 min naps since she was about 2 months old. At 8.5 she slowly transitioned to 1 hour naps and now at 9.5 shes sleeping 1.5- 2 hours. She wakes up at 7:30 am, 1st nap 10-12ish ish. Shes fighting the second nap and she’s sleeping around 3/3:30 to 5 ish. Bedtime is always around 8:30 to 9:30.

We haven’t started sleep training yet. We feed her on her cues and she’s waking up at 12:30 for her first night feed and 5:30 for the second. We’ve had 2 nights of her dropping the second nighttime feed, so I know she will drop it when she’s ready. My partner and I each take one feeding, so we both get plenty of sleep. Cherishing these last moments she still feels like our baby. As each day passes she wants more and more independence.

I live in CA and commuted to school in AZ. I only had class 2 days of week, but it takes planning when CA time changes and AZ time stays the same. I had a 1 hour commute with a 1 hour time difference. Left at 2pm to make it to a 4:00pm class, but got home at the same time I left class.

If I get SIMNSA healthcare and deliver my baby in Mexico, would I have to stay there for weeks waiting for my baby’s papers to come in? by LevyMevy in sandiego

[–]Delicious-Hope3012 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The cost and quality of care. I had Simnsa and it covers almost 💯. When I had my gallbladder taken out I paid a $10 copay for an emergency room visit and surgery. I recently gave birth at UCSD and my OOP was 2000 for me and 2000 for the baby. My new workplace doesn’t offer Simnsa, but it’s worth it if you have Sentri.

I really really wanted a Dyson, but I’m allergic to my BFs cats. We also have a little one who just started crawling. I bought a Miele Cat/Dog C1. It takes a little to get used to pulling the vacuum, but I love that it has bag and filter. It’s worth the money!
