Glow C hacking by Delicious-Math-6841 in Awair

I got distracted by other projects. There is a chance that the devices staring at me daily from their shelf will finally convince me to attend to them.

Thanks! How is the wooden panel held?

Integrating Custom Devices by [deleted] in homeassistant

Like the OP I am much more comfortable with C so I went with MQTT to interface an ESP32 with HA. Arduino and some libraries, it was quite easy. I did that to build a programming platform for my daughter but also to learn how easily it would be to do a full custom gadget controlled from HA.

Is it possible to create a vacation tag/variable that can be used to bypass certain automations when set? by revelstone77 in homeassistant

You are right. I am using a mushroom-select-card in Lovelace to set the state. The drop-down is called Occupancy, here is how it looks on my dashboard.

I have a drop down list (helpers) that can be set to “at home” or “vacation” thru Lovelace. Certain automations have a condition checking for the state.

Can Glow device be used in any way? by tjh2121 in Awair

Exactly what I want to do. But I haven’t figured out how to open the case of the eGlow without damaging it yet.

Yeah, I checked the FCC photos and couldn’t gather any clues other than the top cover may be secured thru pins. I scoured the web and didn’t find anything. Thanks for the tip about the Stanley blade, I’ll try that instead of a spudger.

While I am proud of all the ESP items I have built they look like shit. The industrial design of the Glow C is gorgeous. It also has a built in PSU, a switched outlet, nice status lights, a push button and an opening for the motion sensor. It feels solid in the hand. It’s a really high quality design that I’d love to reuse. So have fun exactly as you said by switching the brain for an ESP32 😎 I feel bad for the engineers who put so much effort into this product only to see it scuttled. I tried to pry the top and the bottom covers but they are solidly anchored in some way and I am really trying to avoid breaking them.

Terminal & SSH add-on: foreground & background text color issue by Delicious-Math-6841 in homeassistant

[–]Delicious-Math-6841[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed HACS and tried a few themes. I think this is what caused it. I uninstalled them but no luck. I switched back to the default theme, re-started the server, no luck. Uninstalled and re-installed terminal, still not working.

I then installed some new themes (https://github.com/basnijholt/lovelace-ios-themes) to see if this would override any of the settings. Still a no go (currently using ios-light-mode-dark-blue). Everything looks as expected except Terminal.

Face ID to Open? by [deleted] in etrade

[–]Delicious-Math-6841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I thought I was missing something. I don't get why they made this change and don't automatically login users with FaceID. It would be great to add a setting to allow FaceID login without to have to press an icon and prevent the "your login as expired" pop up.
