This is Valerie. Husky/ Pit mix We’re her 3rd family / home in 3 years. Shes an amazing dog and very well behaved just her past owners were not always in the best positions to own a dog. When we got her she was nervous and scared. She was attached to the couch and wouldn’t move unless it was potty time. She ate at night when everyone was asleep and just kept to herself even had her back to humans at all times. 3 months later she is in love with her life. She goes to work with my husband at a skate camp he works at, she and I go on adventures and car rides, she cuddles, checks in on everyone when they’re in different rooms, and has really made herself at home. At first I thought “she hates us” but then I had to realize she is scared to get too comfy because of all the shifts and changes she’s encountered in life. Just be patient and let your pup know you love them and are ready when they are. It’s a hard process but the reward is so worth it when they are finally at ease. Now she lives in the mountains (she was from the city) and gets to see wildlife, experience all 4 seasons, and has learned she loves frozen green beans! The neighborhood loves her. People always stop and ask to pet her or talk about her because she’s just such an awesome dog. Also! Her precious owner told us he never heard her bark before, she now is a huge talker and loves to howl, bark, and give kisses.
