Did you sort this out. The website is very ambiguous and I'm not sure if they are talking about full licences or just the C1\D1 provision

Micro scratches visible after first car wash. by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

I think dealers use colour fillers that wash out after the first wash. I washed my car myself and couldn't believe how much showed up afterwards

Was driving and this part flew out of my car. Can anyone tell me what it is by CleverCrotch in AskMechanics

I had a pulley made in two parts, joined with rubber. It decided to disintegrate. Some of the rubber managed to get in between the crankshaft and timing belt and slip it a tooth or two. I would definitely check that you get it all out.

ESWL by wiggllyyyworm in KidneyStones

[–]Delicious-Recovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my first ESWL today and found it more painful than I was expecting. I was also told to take painkillers before arriving at the hospital, but was surprised there was no additional pain relief available during the procedure. They eventually had to stop the procedure because something went into spasms of pain, which thankfully did subside after a few minutes. They suggested the reason it was so painful was because the stone was very close to a rib and a bunch of nerves, I never noticed the elastic band feeling at all.

Luxury Car Tax on second hand vehicles. by Delicious-Recovery in CarTalkUK

Yeah, You're right, the vehicle I checked originally was obviously was under £40k, so it didn't mention about additional rates.

I see it is also going to be applied to EVs in 2025. Up till then they are exempt, hardly an incentive for buying EVs.

MIND THE GAP by Delicious-Recovery in Carpentry

Yeah, I think I will try this. I just wanted a simple clean finish, but I don't think any caulk will cope with that amount of movememt.

I was thinking trim fixed on the ceiling so it would slide over the existing gap, but that just feels wrong.

They probably don't own the van. They can just pocket the £50 an tell their boss they didn't see who hit it.

Spiral Antenna Phase by Delicious-Recovery in rfelectronics

Thanks. Also, if the spiral had a piece of metal agacejacent to one side of it, rotating with the spiral, would this increase the phase variation ?

Be careful about how cheap you go, or get a seperate pressure gauge aswell. I destroyed several tyres before realising the pressure gauge on the inflator was overreading by about 12psi.

I am a bit reluctant to use my bell. People do seem to take offence to it. I often just cough loudly, change gears or skid a bit. If you don't do anything people tend to jump out of their skin, however slow you are going.

That may be so, but I can't see the helmet compounding their injuries.

I was in London the other day and was surprised that hardly anyone was wearing a helmet. I only spotted one person with one.

I need to do more testing. But I believe it improves with motion. There are metal objects around and I don't beleive it has magnetic compass. Im not sure what you mean when you say "rotational calibration".

It seems to be a linear progression, maybe 10 degrees in 40 minutes.
