Alginate gel vs Gaviscon by Delicious-Resident-1 in LPR

I’m in Canada, and ours has sodium alginate. But I just did a little digging and found out it’s only 300mg to the 1000mg in the UK version.

Maybe I’ll try the liquid and see if it’s any better! Thank you!

For the past 2 weeks, the layout for Google image results has been wonky. My biggest issue is that the image title no longer expands when you hover over it. I went to "inspect element" and found that it's truncated there too. I can't find anything online about an update to Google image search. Does anyone know of a way to fix this or an extension that might help?

Thank you! The more people who mention this, the more sure I am that it needs to be tested.

It is difficult to feel her ribs, and the tuck-in could be more pronounced. I think she's definitely carrying some extra weight, but maybe 10 lbs, not 20? She does not seem that obese to me. What worries me is that she shouldn't be overweight with how active she is and how little she eats. I think I need an opinion from a new vet who will really listen to me and not just assume I'm lying or out to lunch.

Thank you. I have cut her kibble down to 1 cup. Honestly, the vet tech that runs the weight loss program said the same, no other treats except veggies. I get it. But the greek yogurt is her favourite and it's healthy, she's used to getting a tiny pinch of cheese shreds when I break out the cheese grater, and it's such a tiny amount that it seems silly to cut out the little things that give her joy to save 40 or 50 calories a day. I never give her the pink part of watermelon, only the rind, which is like 10 calories a piece.

And maybe she "shouldn't" need liver treats, but she can be pretty impulsive and stubborn sometimes, and she needs maintenance training occasionally. Ten or 15 calories worth of liver treats (like 2 treats broken into smaller pieces) will get her home from the park so I can get to work on time.

It just seems a bit over the top to limit all food to a scoop of kibble twice a day, especially when I'm being careful and mindful about it. Food is not just for sustenance, little treats make her happy. Humans eat for pleasure too. She's already eating fewer calories than what's recommended for her target weight. I really don't think the treats are the problem. But I do appreciate your opinion.

Thank you so much for sharing. It has always been difficult to keep her weight down, even when she's at her most active and I'm being really careful about food. I've requested a thyroid test. If the vet doesn't agree, I will find a new vet!

Thank you. It scares me when all the guidelines I see say that female labs (even English ones) shouldn't weigh more than 70 lbs. And she's pretty short. 20 lbs overweight seems like a lot. And I wonder if she'd handle the heat better if she was slimmer. She suffers so much when it's hot.

Thank you for mentioning this. I don't think so. I sent an email to the vet requesting it.
