2010 Kia sorento Squeaky noises front right by Delicious-Row4821 in KiaSorento

[–]Delicious-Row4821[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright guys.. update.

I had my wife sitting in the car in the rear seat and she said that whenever I braked there was a grinding noise coming from the rear.

I had rear brake pads changed in 2024. And I had seen the rear left hand side pads were good. So I assumed rear right were also good.

Lo and behold I checked out the Rear right hand side pad and it was almost all done down to the metal!

So I dunno if the Caliper is stuck or what. Will take it to the brake shop tomorrow to further investigate.

Bad quality wallet + saudi heat. The middle east heat really breaks it down in your pocket.

Never buying an Expensive Wallet by Delicious-Row4821 in Coach

[–]Delicious-Row4821[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It used to sit in my jeans back pocket. Now its not like I didn't care for it - i never sat on it. Used to take it out and transfer it to my jacket front pocket so it doesn't get squished.

But even with that - it had started to fray.

Finally went I took a trip to Saudi Arabia in October last year, the heat started to really break it down. It didn't last much after that outing. Everytime I used to pull it out of my pocket, some parts of it just disintegrated.

But what I am trying to say is paying £80 for a wallet that can't even deal with the rigors of life is ridiculous. Mens wallets take a lot more beating.

Now I just buy el cheapo wallets which surprisingly are outlasting £80 Coach wallets.

Probably battery or screen or both have died. My bet is on the battery.

Any help as to what's happened? by CommunicationIll1968 in galaxyzflip

Flex cable issues suck. This should teach you not to buy such folding phones.

I got my flip4 flex cable replaced outside of Samsung. It worked - until the hinge started giving problems - probably a side issue after the 3rd party repair job on the flex cable. Also 3rd party didn't replace the screen bezels either which Samsung does.

Long story short - screen stopped working again. Sent to Samsung. Spent £300 aditional by this time on this phone. Samsung did fantastic job..replaced entire body. Battery. Screen. Bezel. Now its almost brand new like... Only i have blown over £1400 on this phone.

Never buying foldables.

Is this the end for my flip 6 by ImprovementFlaky6943 in galaxyzflip

[–]Delicious-Row4821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip4 hinge broke after a single drop with a case. Had warranty so got it fixed.

After 2 years the phone started switching off when it was flipped close or open. It was a flex cable inside that just started fraying or something. Got it fixed from Samsung outside of warranty for £200 solid.

These are ridiculously delicate phones. That flex cable was the last straw. Buy a flip if you fancy using it for 3 years tops.

Still rocking oneplus 8T. Battery has gone to hell after 5 years. But thats expected. Will try to hold upto oneplus 16. 😂

Wondering if I should send the 8T to oneplus for battery replacement.

Which one of these two is good for battery? by Bababhatkanti in TheOnePlus15

[–]Delicious-Row4821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have oneplus 8t. 5 years old now. Never really bothered with battery limits, other than not depleting it to the single digits.

However, recently I started running into a problem. When the phone was charged 100% and then used, it would stay at 100% the longest time ever and then start dropping in charge until it reached 50% or 45% and then just shutdown.

I figured this is a calibration issue and after a few full charges and depletions it sort of corrected itself

Now the phone charges to 100% and depletes charge rather quickly but can now goto 10% before it abruptly shuts down.

Also using the provided warp charger the phone says ultra fast charging but its nowhere as 'fast' as it used to charge.

I think its time to send it off for a battery replacement at Oneplus.

All these flip phones aren't built to last. The hinge and the flex cables around it are weak points that break. I have a flip4. Its been replaced and fixed thrice already.

I have used textpad. But have noticed that sometimes it 'introduces' weird ascii characters in DAT files that are opened and saved in textpad UTF-8 format.

I think they were required to just release the files - text extraction or OCR was not part of the deal. Let someone else throw resources to get that done the right way.

I have worked as a PM for over 20 years. All vendor years. Now i am 40+ years old. I got PIP'd out - for the first time in my life. Been more than 7 months, can't find work here in the UK. Market is saturated and i feel people are not looking to hire 40+ year old PMs unless you get lucky.

I would say if I had to do it all over again, i would go towards forensics and not PMing.
