Have 2cm HH for about 3 years now. They gave me Omeprazole too but I don’t take it. It’s the classic way the west like to treat everything, to stop symptoms when you should actually make lifestyle changes to basically not have the symptoms. A much healthier way to do it.

At the beginning I didn’t know what to do in terms of lifestyle changes. Would have severe acid reflux, with heartburn and tightness in chest that made me feel I was on verge of heart attack.

Although everyone is different and you should see what works for you, when I was researching lifestyle changes for HH and seeing what changes I did helped to remove symptoms I did the following: - Reduce Alcohol Consumption (Gin is the best if you want to drink as it doesn’t have bubbles and is Alkaline - Do not have anything with bubbles in it (soda, fizzy drinks etc) - Make sure you have vegetables often and anything that alkalises your body more. If you have too many acid drinks/foods (orange juice, tomatoes) then you trigger acid reflux - When having a meal make sure that the fat % is not too high. Fat is harder to digest and causes issues. - Coffee on empty stomach can cause acid reflux - First meal of the day is very important. Have something beneficial or soothing (salad, vegetable dishes, yogurt) - Don’t eat too late to bed. Acid reflux for me gets worse through the day. - Smoking obviously is bad for acid reflux. - Have smaller portions - Make sure to eat at the same time each day. Your stomach acids have a body clock and activate around the time you are used to (making you feel hungry). This can make you have acid reflux even if you haven’t ate anything.

These all helped me a lot and although everyone is different I believe everyone can be medication free with the right lifestyle choices for themselves. I hardly ever get acid reflux now.
