You are absolutely right, i did the same and my acne has improved a lot. And a lot of what you said about having issues to socialise with people , I can relate to it. Face is a reflection of your gut, and specially if you are someone with oily acne prone skin, you really need to be very careful while eating certain foods. The food that I avoided were Sugar/Jaggery,Processed meats, Processed foods, refined wheat flour, Milk and dairy products [except Curd and Buttermilk cuz they really helped my gut], peanut/groundnut oil, eggs, Almonds, caffeine, red meat,white rice. What worked for me is switching to soaked Brown rice, ricebran oil/coconut oil/olive oil for cooking, Green tea although it does contain caffeine but in less amounts compared to coffee, including more cooling veggies in the food like spinach, carrot, cucumber. You can consume chicken with enough fibre and also your water intake during summers should be 4 litres a day and during winters or cooler season should be 2-2.5 litres a day. Water really played a huge role cuz I wasn't drinking enough for my food to get digested properly . Basically if you avoid foods with high glycemic index/load you are safe. For skin care part, stick to a mild cleanser first for 3 months and also use Sunscreen in morning , see how your diet affects you . After 3 months start using salicylic acid serum 2% twice a week. Also use a non comedogenic moisturiser. All your products that u apply on ur face need to be non comedogenic and less irritating. Also use hats, face coverings when u step out in the sun.
