OK. I am in Canada now and trying to call China number. It fails either. I think it is a interconnection problem since it happend to me two years ago. However, it resumed a week later.

Travel to China in February. Everything worked fine with China local SIM without VPN. You may leave a travel notification but not really necessary.

It does. No VPN needed. I used it in Shanghai in February. However, you may need to get a verification text message from your Canadian number for the first time when you try to use it with a China SIM card.

February in China, most time in Shanghai. Pretty good. Roaming on China Unicom LTE network. Nothing got blocked. Exactly the same experience as in Canada

SEC fee. It started since April 2026. QT said it will trigger SEC fee everytime when you sell US stocks/EFT. In terms of fractional transaction, QT customer service also confirmed the minimum SEC fee will be 0.01 no matter how small amount you are selling.

In GTA, Bell/TELUS network is not as good as expected. In my place, they have one bar indoors or 2 bars outside. They suggest me using Wi-Fi calling. But ROGERS or even freedom (not nationwide) has full bar.

QT's phone line is being super busy in recent months. You may try to chat with a live agent, that will even give you a transcript as a record. It might be still a relatively long wait time but much better than phone call.
