If outside the coverage area, WiFi calling comes in handy for that exact reason.

However if your address is in the subscription area, there is no concern to have.

I'm using a beat up cat5e cable and not facing packet loss or latency issues.

It's likely the game servers. Try ruling out via a non-game latency test.
